Answer This Question

A:  Hello Dogg, As we do not know your location, we cannot give you any direction on finding this product in your Home Depot store, but that is something that one of the PRO associates should be able to help you with just over the phone or when you go in the store.

Q:Is this safe to use to make a picnic table

    Answer This Question

A:  I wouldn't. It's probably OK, but not very appealing.

    by|Jun 27, 2020

A:  Personally, I would NOT use treated lumber. I would fear the chemicals in the wood might be unwelcome contamination in food and beverages. If you can get a Material Safety Data sheet, I am pretty sure you would find that it is not a good idea. I suggest using cedar. Also, 2x6 seems a bit much. I recommend you Google picnic table plans

    Answer This Question

A:  I am pretty sure that treated lumber is not good to use around animals. But you might want to consider cedar if you want weather resistance without paint.

A:  This lumber is safe to use around animals as long as it is not ingested.

A:  Not for anything structural i.e. decks, houses or room additions. You could use 2x6 for a shed floor but I’d still put them at 16 o.c. W/ 3/4 ply.

A:  It's rated for exterior use, including contact with soil! I don't know why it wouldn't be suitable for basement use.

A:  Sorry, don't know about basements., I rebuilt my deck using it as the deck floor boards. Looks great, holding up well after two years. I assume the .60 is a humidity level? My deck is in Michigan, has snow, rain, sun on it; all season use.

A:  My personal experience with this kind of lumber does not lend itself to being able to advise you concerning its use with food or other organics, as I used it to build a generator stand.

A:  That is what I am using the pressure-treated lumber I bought for. I built several raised beds 3 years ago, and they are working beautifully. A:  I would not, use conventional lumber. Use Regular white board, sfp, it will last up to 20 years.

A:  These boards were heavy with moisture when I received them to build my planter. I left them in my shop to dry for a week, and three of the boards warped badly. They are unusable. This is the second experience I've had with severe warping with WeatherShild boards. They are what I could afford. If you buy this, buy more than you need and see if it's still cheaper, as some boards may be wasted due to warp.
