Very accurate, but not without a problem
I got this for my bedroom, assuming that its advertised reduction in light output to 15% at 7pm would make it suitable for sleep. Wrong. First of all, the feature does not work at all. Nothing happens at 7pm, even though the little light icon is on. Also, even at 15%, it's still bright enough to cast shadows on the wall. Accuracy, great. Other features, not so much.

First, please make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand in the display as well as the included power adapter, then perform the following reset. ***This will clear all data on the display.***
1. Remove all power, AC adapter and/or batteries from the display unit for a full five minutes.
2. Press and hold down the reset button, located in the battery compartment, for 20 seconds if applicable.
3. Plug back into AC power and/or insert recommended batteries.
4. Press and hold down the reset button for an additional 20 seconds if applicable.
5. Verify that the unit has powered on and once a connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.
If this does not correct the issue, please reach out to our support team via live chat or email request on the AcuRite Support website.

PERFECT FOR SENIORS
An excellent weather instrument, This AccuRite model was very easy to set up and the large color display can easily be seen across most home sized rooms. Being a senior who no longer has unaided vision or lightning fast thinking this is a great instrument, easily read and great to consult each day before we venture outside.

Works pretty good, But ...........
So far so good. Unit is still in the learning stage and I am waiting to see if the barometric pressure read out settles in to the correct number. One issue I had was that the indoor temp readout was 2 degrees higher than my digital thermostat located just feet away. I noticed that it would settle into the correct temp at night. I had the backlight set on automatic where it dims at night. In the morning it goes back to 100% brightness and the temp would rise 2 degrees. PRO TIP: Set the backlight on the lowest setting for accurate indoor temp readings.

Awesome
This is the 3rd one I have ordered. Many family members love the one that my mom had and hers died after many years. So this was for her birthday. She is very pleased with her new one. Also my son has one also and he loves checking what it says for the morning wait at the school bus stop.

Very simple to setup and easy to read. The only problem I've had with it is that when the power goes out and comes back on it forgets its brightness settings and defaults to full brightness. This happens even with the backup batteries installed (and yes the battery backup works).

Worth a LOOK!
My second Acurite weather device. The first I bought nearly ten years ago. It continues to work flawlessly in our home! This one I am using in my RV. We just completed a two week run and I am happy with the performance, design and price. Still getting used to it. Four stars for now.

Bought for the lake, at $50 kind of expensive, but...
Bought for the lake, at $50 kind of expensive, but that said, appears accurate and so far well made and we love it. Easy to install, easy to read, attractive and lots of information.....I would recommend it to anyone who cares about the weather or local weather forecasting. We are pleased with this purchase overall, would have really loved it at a 39.99 price point, that said, not a bad purchase for $10 more.
