Terrible- do not buy
Everything about this decks box is bad. Build quality is bad. The hinge on my lid never actually set into the rest of the outer panels on the box. I brought this to the attention of Home Depot and they said the best they could do is give me a damage product $30 off. The box has never closed fully And water leaks in and soaks the cushions. I am finally calling it quits on this thing after a year. Don’t waste your money on this product like I did.

    Easy Peasy Assembly
I bought 2 of these. Put the 1st together by myself in 30 minutes and the 2nd in 20 minutes. Easy assembly, good instructions. I don’t get why some folks had difficulty with the hinges. The machine screws go in easily first, although don’t fully tighten, and then install the self-tapping screws with a screw gun or Phillips head attachment on your variable speed drill. Also hold the lid up with the box the item came in while you’re installing the hinges. I just hope the box is water proof.

Hampton Bay 150 gal - Great Product
Purchased Hampton Bay 150 gal Brown Wicker storage box. Instructions were good and easy to follow, took about 1 hour to assemble (recommend 2 people to install the top). Color and wicker design looks great, will look very nice on my patio. Hinges are well made to keep top open when needed and also easily open\close. Also large enough inside to store a variety of outdoor items, highly recommend this product.

        Great Product!
We purchased the Hampton Bay 150 gallon deck box last month and we couldn't be happier. We have had significant weather over the course of the past few weeks from high winds to heavy snow and we are extremely happy with how well the product has held up. The interior has stayed extremely dry through all of it. The assembly was easy and straight forward. We are very pleased with our purchase of this product and we will be purchasing more Hampton Bay Deck Boxes for other winter storage needs.

Not worth a dime let alone nearly $200
We purchased this storage box for our pool deck. It was purchased in mid-July and on our pool deck by late July. A month later and some time in the sun and it is worthless. The lid is so warped & appears so insufficient to stand up to any outdoor elements. With it being warped it no longer closes/exposes everything into rain/the elements. If you intend to keep this box on a deck with exposure to the sun it seems you should reconsider. Beyond disappointing (and expensive for 1 month's use).

            So far, so good
It was delivered today and my husband and I just set it up. We followed the advice about putting the middle screw in first while installing the hinges and that worked for us. It was reasonably easy for two people to assemble. Most importantly it fits all 12 of my cushions (6 back, 6 seat)! It looks like it will keep them clean and dry ;-)

Good looks but won't close at corner!
Love the way the storage bin looks, it fits our 4 chair cushions fine (8 cushions total). The problem I have is that the lid is not centered over the box. The lid will not close completely at front RH corner and nest in the proper position. I reviewed the assembly and can not see any issues. Disappointing.

Do not recommend this at all
Hard to put together as things did not line up correctly. Also the top ended up warping and will just not close correctly. Eventually the screws just fell off that keep the lid closed and it broke from one corner. I definitely do not recommend. Also purchased online and can't return to store so please be aware of that if still thinking of purchasing it.

              Easy setup and installation
The setup was very easy with concise instructions. I put it together myself but would be faster with two people especially at the end when putting the hinges on. Overall great price for the size as other stores were offering the same price but for a smaller size so Home Depot once again saved the day and made me look good for the "CFO" my wife.

Not worth your time, or the money.
I purchased this as a rooftop storage box for patio cushions, as the winds in my area sometimes reach 65+ mph. A job that should have taken a half hour tops, turned into three hours of wrestling and rearranging parts to try and get the box to properly fit together. The tabs on the front and the back part of the box did not lock in, so the holes for the air hinges would not align to attach the brackets. I contacted the company for assistance, which they had none, except to put me in touch with Home Depot to do a return. I returned the first one, reordered a second one, thinking it was a fluke. When the box arrived, it looked like it had been opened and resold. My daughter and I attempted to put the second one together, with the exact same issue. The back and front will not snap in, so you cannot attach the hinges. Also, as I had thought, it was not a new item, as one of the bars on the back, that the lid attaches to was broken off and missing. I am highly disappointed, but basically stuck with it, as it was the only large sized container available with a latch to combat the high winds. I would not purchase it again, and definitely do not recommend it.

              Good Deck Storage
              1. Simple assembly. Panels slide together 2. You may need a mallet to help "snap" the back and front panels to the bottom. Tilt up the box and firmly tap the base into the panel. 3. A little tricky "snapping" the lid hinge together. Suggest laying the lid onto a tall trash can to support it while you work on "snapping" the hinges together 4. It may seem discouraging to see that one of the nuts to the metal bracket does not line up (see pic). Suggest that you loosely fasten that screw first, then "man handle" the metal bracket to fasten the other two screws.

                Very Nice Deck Box
We love this deck box. The wicker pattern & color work very well with our brown wicker furniture. The size is perfect to fit all of our cushions, in two boxes. The boxes went together smoothly, but the hinges were a bit trickier. Start with the middle screw, then the outer screw, then back screw. These boxes should protect our furniture investment by keeping our cushions dry and long lasting for years to come.

                  Holds a lot!
Inside dimensions are 47Lx24.5Wx23.5H/D. It easily holds all twelve seat and back cushions for my six dining chairs, plus a cotton hammock over the top too! It was easy to assemble except the self-tapping screws are tough to hand screw into hard plastic, so I used an impact driver. It opens and closes very smoothly thanks to the gas-strut hinges. It doesn't seem to close as tight as it should because I can push it down more, yet it won’t stay. There’s a metal D-ring attached to the lid that fits into a slit in the base. It would probably hold down tighter if I added a padlock to the ring while closed, but it’s surprisingly waterproof even when the lid is just loosely closed. We’ve had heavy rain lately and the cushions and hammock are dry with this thing out in the open yard. The weave texture is attractive, and the plastic feels heavy duty. This bin should last for many years!

Hampton Bay 150 Gal. Java Brown Resin Wicker Deck Box
I need to get another Deck Box to store all the cushions we have. This is larger than the other one I have. The outside dimension is 60” L x 26” W x 27” D, the inside depth is 23”. The Deck Box is made of resin that make it durable and weather resistant. The instructions were easy to follow and all you need is a Phillip screwdriver. Assembly took less than 30 minutes to put together. One of the nice features is that is comes with 2 gas shocks to keep the lid stay open when you open it. Not like my other one when the wind is blowing and it you trying to get something out of it and the lid hit you on the back of the head. It also has a lockable steel reinforced lid to lock it if you need to have it secure. It comes with a 1-year warranty. Great product from Hampton Bay.

                  Great Outdoor Storage Solution
This box is a great outdoor storage solution. Because of it's size, it's a bit cumbersome to put together and I would definitely recommend a 2 person assembly if possible. The box does go together easily and the instructions are simple to follow. The box is a great large size and can hold lots of outdoor goodies. I'm excited to fill it up with fun stuff. I do hope it is good at keeping things dry inside. We will see!

                  Nice looking, large capacity
Hampton Bay 150 Gal. Java Brown Resin Wicker Deck Box – I didn’t know I needed this, but it turns out I do. I’ve had a smaller deck box with fewer features and less sturdy construction for nearly 20 years. I got rid of the pool years ago, so this sets on our main deck. The hydraulic lid struts make this upgrade worth it all by themselves. I can now store multiple containers of pellets for the pellet grill, multiple barbeque accessories, as well as grill toppers. I can access them all without the lid slamming down on me. The hinges are steel and there is the capability provided to padlock the lid if desired. The inner lid is structurally molded to provide superior strength. As a matter of fact, I keep a chaise cushion on top which our dog has found to be quite adequate for sleeping.

                  Great outside storage
I ordered the Hampton Bay wicker storage three weeks ago and when it arrived I couldn’t be more pleased. It is very heavy to move the box and the panels are also heavy. Included in the box are the brackets and the screws and the gas shocks. There’s an instruction guide to help step by step with the assembly. I was able to assemble the panels and only needed help to connect the cover with the gas shocks. It is perfect to keep all my garden needs and the gas shocks keep it open while I’m working.

                  Most Excellent Size
You can't beat Hampton Bay products. I have usually had good luck with them but must state once again that you must consider the price point of the item and how long it will take you to assemble! PROS: Incredible 150 gal size to place all kinds to patio cushions and items inside and out of the elements. Great resin wicker look. I would call this a gray brown but I guess it depends on the light. Lid stays up nicely so you can pack or unpack items. Good price for such a large storage box. CONS: assembly wasn't terrible but the lid requires 2 people to slide it on properly. Alone it was NOT doable and had to wait for help to arrive. There is a front opening where lid drops down so you could put a lock in it but I feel it's an access area for little mice and water. Not something I'm keen on having. Wish that was closed up solid; so we'll have to see how it does when winter comes and if my chair cushions are all intact and not moldy and chewed upon.

120 Gal. Driftwood Grey Resin Wicker Deck Box
The 120 Gal. Driftwood Grey Resin Wicker Deck Box is a very large storage box that is weather resistant. Perfect for storing outside gardening tools or outside furniture. It provides an appealing non-clutter look to enhance any outside area. The resin walls fit together nicely and are somewhat easy to assemble. The fact that it has exterior tie-down tabs and a locking steel reinforced lid provides an extra sense of security. The slow close gas shocks on the lid provide for ease of opening and closing lid to prevent it from closing too quickly.

                  Large and well built
This Hampton Bay Java Brown resin wicker deck box is very large at 5 ft long. I decided to put it on the side of my house next to my concrete patio in the mulch to store all my patio furniture cushions. It easily holds all my cushions and I even use it to store some larger grill supplies. It even has a loop so you could put a padlock on it. It arrived at my house in a flat box, and there are many rectangular panels inside. These panels simply slide into each other so you build the deck box from the bottom up. I only had one slight issue with assembly and that was the last step where you put the pivoting lid on top. This lid is held up in the air with 2 gas pistons which is nice, however the holes for the mounting brackets did not lineup exactly with the holes in the sides of the deck box (see photo). I fixed the issue mentioned above by temporarily sticking a piece of scrap pine wood under the one corner of the deck box which slightly lifted the side panel aligning the holes in a straight line. I was then able to screw in the hardware for the gas pistons and assembly was finished. I like that there is a raised lip all the way around the top of this deck box which works in conjunction with the lid to keep water from coming in sideways (see photo). Overall I give this deck box 4 out of 5 stars because it’s built really well and looks nice, but I had to get a little creative to assemble the piston brackets.

                  Ample Storage, Durable Construction
Ample capacity for storing garden tools, pillows, barbecue supplies, or whatever. Rugged construction of double walled interlocking panels is built to last. Two steel brackets reinforce the lid hinge and connect to gas-filled shock absorbers that support the lid. Assembly instructions are clear. Five exterior panels slide together. Lid snaps onto back panel hinge. Phillips screw driver and patience needed to attach the steel hinged brackets. First use machine screws to attach the lower part of the hinge to threaded nuts in the side panels. Then use self-tapping screws to attach the upper part of the hinge to the lid. Final step is to pop the shock absorbers into place. Assembly completed. Basket weave exterior pattern enhances appearance. Domed lid improves rainwater runoff, but is less useful than a flat table top. My sample keeps the contents dry. The box weighs 50 lb. empty. The “handles” on the ends are shallow indents—somewhat inadequate for secure gripping and lifting this sizable box. Better choices are available if ease of relocation is a priority. Best features are rugged durable construction, ample capacity, protection of contents, and lockability. Assembly instruction sheet states two years warranty limited to manufacturing defects but excludes weather damage. Made in China.

Great way to store horse tack
I don’t intend to use this as a deck box. I intend to use this as tack box in my horse barn. I have a lot of blankets and leather tack for my horses. In the past the mice have chewed up the blankets and the leather. By putting everything in this box I am hoping that it will keep the little critters from destroying everything. Assembly of the box was easy. The instructions are in good English and well written. The only issue is that there was a misalignment problem with the screws holes for mounting the lid. All of the threaded inserts could not be aligned with the hinge.(see picture 1) I am a mechanical engineer and it is not a problem with understanding the instructions. I chose to just ignore the screw that did not line up and hope for the best. This was the issue with both right and left hinges. Other than that this is a very well constructed box that holds a lot of stuff. I really liked the way everything ,except the hinges, lined up and popped into place. Often extra screws are included in case of losing one, however that was not the case here. Its is really nice that the box was equipped with struts that hold the lid open and keep it from slamming shut.

Durable, sturdy, and keeps water out.
This outdoor storage unit is great. It came packaged nicely and arrived with no damage. The deck box does require some assembly. It comes with an easy to read instruction guide with pictures. One person can have this unit fully assembled in just a few minutes. All you need to assemble this is a Phillips screw driver. Me personally, I ended up using my drill because it was easier and quicker to install the self tapping screws. The resin walls give this a nice durable feel. The base has 4 eyelets for securing the box to the ground. When you open the lid about half way the shocks open it the rest of the way. They also help to secure the lid when you close it. The lid can be locked with a padlock (sold separately). I have been browsing online at different deck boxes and the big complaint on most of them are, they are not water tight. So far I have had this box through snow and rain and have not had a problem with water getting in. The bottom and walls slide together with a tongue and groove design giving it a water tight seal. I also like the style of this box. Some are just plain but this one has a nice design and color. I have quite a bit of lawn furniture in my yard. I will be getting another one for more storage. The dimensions on the inside of this deck box are verticaly: 23 1/2 in. X horizontally: 46 5/8 in.

Great Box to Store the Patio Cushions
Needing a place to store my patio's cushions, this box satisfies this need quite well with the features that are important. The lockable lid includes two shocks to provide a smooth, safe closing of the lid. The box also includes tabs that would allow you to anchor the box to the ground if necessary. The overlapping sides, bottom and top should provide protection for the cushions from the rain, snow and dust.

This is a Great Deck Box
Hampton Bay…. This 120 gal. Driftwood Grey Resin Wicker Deck Box is bigger than I thought, this box is huge at 48”x 26”x26” outside diameter, the sturdy double wall resin construction makes it strong and durable and at just short of 50lbs. the wind isn’t going to relocate it, the color driftwood grey is a great color and it goes with anything in our patio, what I like best is the slow close gas shocks they make opening and closing the lid really easy and the interlocking side walls, front and back, the floor and the lid are all solidly interlocked it was very quick and easy to assemble, it comes with all the necessary hardware and easy to follow instructions, it easily holds standard to really large size cushions it met my garden hose test after raining on the box for a couple of minutes all my cushions stayed nice and dry.

                  Solid, Heavy, Lots of Space
Late last summer we put together a patio and after about the second trip carrying the cushions, we had to do something. This is going to make it so much more enjoyable. Not only can we store our cushions, but several other things we were having to carry back and forth. It's very solid and heavy enough that it's not going to blow around. The lid is lockable and will stay open with the gas shocks. That is so helpful. It will support up to 225lbs, evenly distributed. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. Cleaning should be done with soap and water. Rinse with clear water and wipe dry. Don't use any strong cleaners as it will ruin the finish. I'm going to enjoy the patio time even more with the help of this deck box. It's a great looking box in every way.

This box is huge! And was very easy to assemble!
Wow, this box is big enough to bury me in, even two of us would fit in here. But it will also hold a good number of patio cushions, perhaps some candles and such over the rainy season - or any season, for that matter. I was quite surprised how quickly it went together, no difficult instructions, not a lot of hardware, but it has an assembly that is intuitive and works! I really appreciate the hinge mechanism, enabling one to close the lid quietly but securely! And this will also provide a seat for an unexpected guest or two! I am very pleased with it, it fits my deck perfectly!
