Used this daily on our front door (we don’t have a garage, so it got lots of use). Loved it while it worked, finish is durable but the lock stopped working after 2 years 10 months.

Bought 2 sets, 1 set was defective

This is an excellent addition to my home security.

This only lasted only about 3 years and then the gears started to bind up. The motor is mounted with double sticky tape. Once the motor sags out of alignment it binds up. Bad design. They should of attached the motor with screws.

Was easy to install. I like that you can use your old key if it fits in the slot. The only thing it sounds a little loud when locking and unlocking.

Awesome you can code in all your previous keys to the bolt on this lock.

Family of two and mostly use the garage door. I have to replace the batteries roughly every three weeks. On two occasions, I’ve locked it but it goes through a continuous loop, only shutting down after I remove the back plate and batteries.

I like this lock a lot, it not big, the buttons are easy to press, I can rekey myself, and it got a nice design. However, after about a year the lock electronic mechanism gets messed up and it will not turn using the keypad to open. It somehow gets "jammed" while trying to open the door and the gears are stuck in a state it can't get out of. I had to replace it thinking that was just a defective one, then after a year of using the new one, it also has the same problem as the first one. Since we can't open it electronically with the keypad we use the key and the crazy part is when we put the key in the lock to turn and open, the entire lock cylinder came out of the lock and it cannot be put back in. Do not buy this lock if you plan on using it for more than a year.

Worked great until the first rainstorm. It stopped working. I took it apart and dryed out in the sunlight for a day. The connections had corrosion so i cleaned and oiled. Not very reliable in my opinion. Dont waste your money.

Had to get another from the manufacturer after 2 would not code.

This is the third one I have had in 4 years. Only reason I keep it is because my door was pre-cut for this lock and didn't want to modify the door, jamb, etc. The locking mechanism is quirky at best. It did not work right out of the box and I tried everything. I know I followed the instructions correctly because it worked on my 3 previous locks, but they don't last. If you don't close the door all the way by accident, the lock will jam. It also gets stuck in a loop and won't latch all the way sometimes and the only way to fix is to take it apart quickly and remove the batteries. Go Schlage instead.

My first one stopped working after a few months. Kwikset replaced it but that one was defective out of the box. Kwikset sent me a third one. I just installed but it is not functioning properly. I'm done with Kwikset electronic products.

I love this product. I can re-key it as needed and also provide neighbors/pet sitters with their very own code that I can later remove. After approximately 5 years, the product started to fail: I couldn't change/enter a new code anymore and later found that my key wouldn't work. Kwikset has a great warranty, but I did not save my receipt. I will save all in the future!

Pure piece of garbage. Buyer beware..

I love this door lock. In fact I have the same lock on my front door and liked it so much I bought a second one for my other door and my daughter likes it so much she has now equipped her doors with the same lock. Easy to install and easy to set codes. I have my locks set to lock automatically after 30 seconds so I never have to worry that I might have forgotten to lock them when I leave the house. Also, looks very classy too.

This would have been awesome — but it’s not meant for doors with simultaneous hurricane locks. It was super easy to “almost install”, since I had to stop and return due to the turning mechanism being thicker and more solid than the one imbedded into the hurricane slots. Definitely would recommend (we one on a different door).
