My washer was delivered with a hole in the drain tube which we didn't find out about until it flooded my laundry room leaking down to my finished basement ruining the ceiling. In the process of getting it fixed through home depot insurance which is basically set up to make the process such a pain in the butt that you end up not using them and doing it yourself. Not only would I not recommend this product i wouldn't recommend buying and major appliance from home depot.

It’s Works but not so great. Does not get stains off from clothes. This washer did not meet my expectations because I was hoping for it to be more efficient and to actually wash my clothes… I’ve had it for a month now, so I am not able to return it.

TRASH!!!!
Biggest piece of garbage I have ever owned. I’ve had this piece of junk for 4 years and am at my wits end with it destroying my clothing. The photos are what it looked like the first time I took the agitator out after a year of owning when the staining nightmare began. I don’t use scent beads or fabric softener and only 1-2tbs of detergent. I probably spend more time running cleaning cycles on a weekly basis than I do actually using the dang thing. I soak overnight in vinegar, run affresh packets weekly, & always leave the lid open. I now even remove the agitator once a month for a deep clean and it still has a huge buildup of gunk every time and my clothing is still constantly coming out of the washer with what looks like grease splatters than I cannot remove no matter what. At this point lg should pay me for the amount of articles of clothing this machine has cost me. I’m ready to light it on fire and throw it down a hill. Save yourself the money and headache and choose anything but LG!!

    Terrible
Gets clothes clean, but after 6 months all the words starting rubbing off the machine (they are not covered under the warranty). In addition, it must be terribly filthy already because it has been getting brown stuff all over my clothes. I have had to run the clean cycle at least 3 times. I wonder if the grease-like spots on my cloths be from the machine also...

Hi, Melody. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your LG Washer model WT7000CW. We want to ensure your laundry experience leaves your clothes feeling fresh and looking pristine while maintaining the beautiful appearance of your appliance. To prevent buildup that can leave residue on your garments, we recommend wiping down the interior tub and using the Tub Clean cycle with a specialized washer cleaner monthly, while avoiding excess detergent which can trap residue. When keeping the machine exterior tidy, please clean it gently using a damp cloth with mild soap or detergent, avoiding harsh or abrasive chemical cleaners that can affect the printed lettering. The product meets expectations, and I am hopeful that reliability will be as good as advertised. There is no way to manually adjust the water level, which is annoying, but there is a "deep wash" cycle that fills the drum all the way up. Otherwise, the machine is quiet, operates smoothly, and cleans clothes well.

      Stainless steel tub
LG completely misleading customers on your tub. No stainless steel tub in any washing machine will corrode or rust. That’s just a marketing and a false statement to lead customers in the wrong direction.

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your LG Washer (WT7005CW) model. We understand the importance of feeling confident in the materials of your washer. We want to provide completely transparent information about our appliance materials, and appreciate the opportunity to discuss the durability of our design. High-grade stainless steel is naturally resistant to oxidation, and using a full stainless steel drum in our washers provides a non-porous surface that resists chipping, scratching, and peeling over time. Unlike porcelain or plastic tubs, this material avoids rough edges that can snag delicate fabrics and prevents odor and bacteria absorption. To maintain a clean interior free from mineral film or detergent buildup, we recommend a monthly "Tub Clean" cycle with an oxygen-based washer cleaner and wiping the door seal after use. The LG 4.5 Cu Ft top load washer is working great so far. We had originally purchased a Maytag top loader but we had to return it because it slammed and banged upon first use. The LG is far quieter and is well balanced. Cleans clothes just fine. The Maytag return and replacement with the LG went very smoothly and delivery and installation were on time and without issue.

This washer works very well. It's self leveling and doesn't move during the spin cycle. Each setting displays the wash run cycle time. Settings are easy to use. The tone at the end of the cycle is pleasant.

        Poor Workmanship for control panel
I bought this washer back in July 2025,based on reviews and testing from consumer reports. Love the washer but the power button markings are rubbing off. LG support told me if I got something on the button, including detergent, it would make the symbol rub off the power button and is not covered under warranty. It's a washing machine that uses detergent. Very disappointed that they will not fix this and I've only had it since July. I've had many machines with similar power buttons and have never had this issue.

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Washer (WT7005CW) model. We’re glad to hear you’ve been enjoying its performance overall.

We understand how important it is for your appliance to maintain its appearance and usability. While markings can wear over time due to contact with cleaning agents, one helpful tip is to gently clean control panels using a soft, damp cloth without harsh chemicals or direct detergent contact. This can help preserve the finish and visibility of the buttons. For more help, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-top-load-washer-cleaning-and-maintenance-guide--20152385368911. Either too much or too little water.
I purchased a WT7000CW machine last year and I'm very frustrated with the lack of control over the water level. Either hardly any water is put into a wash or too much water! There is no happy medium. The bedding cycle fills the tub all the way up to the top and the laundry swirls at the top of the water and doesn't really get clean. The normal cycle puts hardly any water into the tub and I don't feel the clothes are getting clean. When you select "water plus", it fills the tub to the top in which case the laundry floats at the top and doesn't get agitated. The deep fill option is the same. Water fills to the brim with the dirty laundry swirling around at the top of the water far away from the agitator. Horrible design! So sorry I purchased this machine.

Thanks for your feedback, Mimi — the WT7000CW uses AI-based sensing to optimize water levels, but there are ways to improve wash performance if the results feel inconsistent. LG top-load washers like the WT7000CW automatically adjust water levels based on the weight and type of load. While this helps conserve water and energy, it can sometimes feel unpredictable depending on the cycle and fabric mix. Here are a few tips to help you get more consistent results: Understanding Water Level Behavior ⦁ Normal cycle uses minimal water to optimize energy efficiency. If clothes aren’t getting clean, try switching to Heavy Duty or Bulky/Bedding cycles, which allow more agitation and water. ⦁ Water Plus adds about 1 gallon of extra water — helpful for lightly soiled loads, but may not be enough for bulky items. ⦁ Deep Fill is best for large or absorbent loads, but if items float, try mixing heavier fabrics to help anchor the load. Tips to Improve Cleaning Performance ⦁ Distribute laundry evenly around the tub to help the impeller agitate effectively. ⦁ Avoid overloading — too many items can reduce movement and cleaning. ⦁ Use the correct cycle for the fabric type and soil level. For example, towels or bedding do better on Bulky/Bedding. ⦁ Try a different detergent — high-efficiency (HE) formulas work best, but some clean better in low-water conditions. More Troubleshooting Help You can find detailed guidance here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-top-load-washing-machine-water-supply-the-water-level-cannot-be-adjusted-the-water-level-is-too-high-the-water-level-is-too-low--20154629491759 If you’d like personalized support, feel free to email us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. – LG Digital Care Team ^Rich
Very spacious interior with a surprisingly smaller exterior size. Some people don't like impellers, but I wanted to be able to wash blankets more easily.

Need to run the Tub Cleaning cycle constantly to prevent mold. Even that doesn't seem to heip.
I thought this was a decent washer until I noticed the musty odor coming from the empty tub. I've always followed the directions in the manual and ran the tub clean cycle about once a month using a tub cleaning powder. This time I ran tub clean and couldn't believe all the blackish brown cellophane appearing stuff floating in the water. So I ran it again with the same result. I'm on my third tub clean in a row and it's still very dirty. I called customer support and she said to run tub clean a minimum of 5 times in a row. If that didn't work, then call a repair company to clean it out at my expense. Nowhere in the manual does it say run tub clean 5 times to do what it should do after only once. I always take out the wet clothing right after they wash and leave the lid open until the next wash. I pull out the detergent and softener drawer each time so that it dries. I feel there's a design flaw that doesn't allow the tub to dry inside and out causing a build up of mold. The tub isn't designed for end user removal for cleaning. I have never had this problem with any of the other 6 machines I've owned. Do not buy this product !!!!

              Thumbs down
I bought this 13 months ago. It worked fine, with some annoying things, but mostly functional. Now that my washer is a month out of the manufacturers warranty, water is leaking into the tub (picture attached, left empty overnight). I am very disappointed in LG and the quality of appliances these days.

Hi, Samantha. Thanks for sharing your experience with the LG Washer (WT7005CW) model. We understand your concern about finding water accumulating in the tub, especially when the unit is just outside of its warranty window. We strive to provide top-notch products and exceptional service to ensure a smooth experience.

It might be due to the water inlet valve not closing completely, causing a slow leak. To check, unplug the unit, turn off the water supply, and see if the tub continues to fill. If it stops, consider replacing the valve. For more details, visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y29xkQi1Efo.

I bought this washer January 19, 2023. It's already broke! When is was working it was fine but I would think an LG product should last longer than a couple of years. I was not expecting to call a repair service so soon.

Dog hair and Lint stays in tub
Purchased 4/5/25 delivered 4/12/25( this date is important). First load of every day clothes cam out dirty with white pots. Thought maybe I left something in a pocket so I rewashed. Still dirty. Red flag. Then I washed towels used to dry dogs that shed. I shake them thoroughly before washing. After doing 5 loads of these "dog" towels, there was no lint or hair in the discharge sock hanging in sink. Another red flag. I usually fill up one sock trap in 2 weeks. Where is all the hair going? Called LG customer service. Gal on phone asked for purchase date for warranty records. I said my washer was delivered 7 days after purchase and the warranty date clock should start on that day, she said NO it starts on day of purchase. That's wrong on all levels. Anyway, she had me watch a video on emptying lint trap which isn't even on the washer I purchased, which I gave her my model #. She said she would call me the following evening at 7pm after a meeting they would have that day. She would inquire where the lint is going for this machine. I rushed home from work, no call.... still to date no call. Poor customer service. I opened the washer after not doing a load for a few days. I was shocked to find all the "lint and hair/fur" stuck to the sides and agitator of the machine. So this means my items are not clean after washing in the heavy load full tub setting. To say I am sickened by this is an understatement. My previous front load washer did a much better job. To think I wasted $800 for a machine that doesn't clean my clothes and towels makes me sick. I saved and saved $$ for a new machine and did my research before purchasing this. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay away from this machine. I can't return this and don't know what to do. I guess I need to wipe out the drum after every wash.

Hi there, Kristin. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG WT7005CW Top Load Washer. We understand your inquiry regarding the presence of lint and pet hair after washing, and we’d like to help address this. Unlike front load models that may include internal filters, top load washers like the WT7005CW use a high-efficiency system that flushes debris through the drain with the rinse water, meaning visible lint or pet hair may sometimes remain in the tub or on clothing—especially after washing items with heavy shedding. For best results, we recommend using the Deep Wash cycle with extra rinse enabled, and occasionally running the Tub Clean cycle with an LG-approved cleaner to help maintain optimal performance. After pet-heavy loads, it can also be helpful to manually remove any visible buildup around the agitator and drum. We’d be happy to look into this further and assist with next steps.

                    Leaks Grease onto Clothes
Owned this washer for over 2 yrs and it leaks oil onto our clothes. It happened a few times early on and we didn’t understand what was going on, it’s still happening a couple times a week. We first started noticing stains on light colored clothes. Now I check the washer after every load and have to wipe the grease off the drum and then check the clothes before we can dry them. Several clothing items have been ruined. Today it appeared to be more grease around the ring so I pulled the lighter clothes out of the dryer to inspect and sure enough a grease mess all over the shirt!! Got it cleaned up and sprayed stain remover on it while it was still wet, so hopefully this item isn’t ruined. Extremely frustrating for clothes to come out dirtier than they started. I tend to use the deep wash feature pretty often because sometimes clothes will come out still dry otherwise. Overall would not purchase this machine again.

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Washer (WT7000CW) model. We understand your concern about dealing with oil stains on your clothes, especially after using the washer for over two years. We strive to provide high-quality products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations.
The oil-like stains you’re describing could be caused by an issue with the washer’s transmission or another internal component, like the seals or bearings, which may leak lubricants. This can happen over time, especially if there’s a problem with the internal parts, and it’s essential to address it quickly to avoid further damage to your clothes.

We recommend stopping the washer’s use and contacting a technician for a more thorough inspection of the washer’s components, particularly the transmission and seals. They may need to be replaced to resolve the issue. In the meantime, we suggest avoiding the deep wash cycle, as this can sometimes put more strain on the washer, especially if it’s not fully functioning.

Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you further and help arrange a service appointment if needed. We want to ensure you're satisfied with your appliance and that this issue is resolved for you. ^Juvy LG

                      Great washer!
I had to replace my washer and decided on the lg- WT7005CW. It’s quiet and washes well. The bleach dispenser is heavy plastic and will not rust like a metal dispenser. The stainless steel drum can handle a large capacity load. I prefer to have several loads instead of one large load. I plan to keep this washer longer than the one before. After each wash I noticed in the detergent tray (in the softener compartment side) some of the water did not empty. Although the water is clear, it did not empty completely after the rinse cycle. The detergent tray is removal, also it’s replaceable - (always check your model number). After laundry is completed for the day, I gently pull the detergent tray out to empty any water that may still be there. Also I prefer to leave my washer lid up to avoid dampness to eliminate any possibility of water odor.

                              Functions but disappointing
The actual function of the machine seems to be ok. I am able to wash my clothes and I'm fairly satisfied with the cleanliness of the clothes. My disappointment lies in my inability to use the app to control the machine. I rolled the instructions and I downloaded the thin q app, but it won't connect. This feature was on of the main features that drew me to purchase it.

Then, try power cycling the washer by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Also, check that the ThinQ app is updated to the latest version from the Google Play or Apple App Store. If needed, open the app, tap the plus sign to add a product, and scan the QR code inside the washer or add it manually. Lastly, ensure your router isn’t limiting connections or blocking devices. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact details. We’d be more than happy to assist you further, just a PM away! 😊 ^Anthony
                                Not a good investment
Parents have this model, last then two years old. First, the lid's hinge is cracked. The extended warranty through Home Depot was not willing to honor a claim for a new lid assembly. Second, the agitator seems to barely move the load of laundry around.

Hi, Robert. Thank you for sharing your feedback about the LG Washer (WT7005CW) model. We understand your concern about a washing machine that has issues like a cracked lid hinge and poor agitator performance, especially when warranty claims don’t go as expected.

For the cracked hinge, we recommend contacting Home Depot customer service again at 800-466-3337 to discuss your warranty options, as they may need to review the claim further. You may check this link for quick help: https://www.homedepot.com/c/The_Home_Depot_Protection_Plans. As for the agitator, ensuring that the load is balanced can sometimes help improve its performance. If the agitator is still not functioning properly, it might be worth having a technician take a look.

My top loading LG washing machine hasn’t work
I purchased the LGWT 7000 C, I haven’t been able to wash my clothes since the purchase. It’s about a week old. It doesn’t drain properly. The spin cycle doesn’t work, it doesn’t drain properly even when I put it just on spin cycle it doesn’t spin fast enough to drain the clothing. I troubleshoot it everything I can on my end. It was professionally installed. I don’t know what to do.

                                    Worst washer…
I have owned it for several months, tried to like it but it does not clean the clothes. You either get very little water or a full tub. I have tried all of the different settings. I washed rags that I put down under my dog’s food bowls. I shake them out after they use them, shook them out before putting in the washer but of course there are still dried bits on the rags. Used heavy duty cycle, which took over 2 hours and food bits were still on the rags and in the tub.

                                        Highly Recommend
First time with LG Appliances and so far, so good! I never had a washer without an agitator, I like it. I also like the clear top so I can see inside, very cool! There's just one thing I don't understand... I don't see where I can select the load size which would determine how much water goes in. I'm going to assume the washer automatically determines that based on the weight of the load? I've read the manual several times looking for that and couldn't find it. That's another plus, it actually came with the complete manual! I didn't have to go online to get one. Good job doing that LG, I appreciate it!!

                                          No, Nada, Nope
Do not buy this machine. I repeat. Do not buy this machine. It does not fully clean. Will create higher water costs. Couldn't be more disappointed. Frustrated that I didn't research it better before. Again, do not purchase this machine
