Plastic on top cracked
Washer was great until the top corners by the hinges cracked when I went to open it (gently like always). We never put anything on top of it as I did not want the glass to get scratched. I called LG customer service since it is only 6 months old and they said it was cosmetic and not covered. It was going to cost over $400 to have it fixed!

Hi, there. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG Washer (WT7150CM) model. We understand your concern about the cracks near the hinges on the top corners, especially after just 6 months of gentle use. We strive to provide durable, high-quality products and exceptional services to ensure a smooth experience.

While physical damage is often considered cosmetic, hinge-related cracks that affect usability could potentially qualify for an exception. We’d like to investigate this more closely.

Please send us a private message on social media at @LGUSSupport with your case number, photos of the damage, and proof of purchase so we can escalate your request. We want to make sure you’re not left with an unfair repair cost for something that shouldn’t happen on a well-maintained unit.

Thanks for letting us know—let’s work toward a resolution together. ^Juvy LG

We used to consider LG to be one of the best value and quality product. "Life is not good" when you buy their short term disposable products now. s available.
Bought this model washer just over one year ago. Most unfortunate because this washer cannot handle one bath robe, or the small dog blanket. Now it barely does four pairs of jeans. This has become a progressive problem and didn't really warrant a call to LG until it really didn't wash any loaded material other than very light duty loads. Now the washer keeps restarting and filling with water. LG only says that we would have to replace the motherboard, but not sure if that would solve the problem. Does that sound like a quality product, when certainly you can spend less and get the same subpar performance. I don't want to name the product we should have bought since that will sound like a promo piece. Unfortunately, we should have spent the extra $400-500 more than to throw away the roughly $700, considering the reviews were decent and the sticker price was in the budget. It is not affordable when you have the wife wanting the washer to be donated to the Salvation army and buy a new machine. Do you think I will want to take a chance on their durable goods again? Definitely not their washing machines! We used to be an LG home with all of the appliances, but not any more.

Hello there. Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed experience with your LG WT7155CW top load washer. We truly understand your situation, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Performance issues that develop over time—such as reduced wash capacity or cycles restarting—can sometimes be linked to an unbalanced load or a buildup in the water level sensor system. For the issue you're experiencing, we recommend performing a Tub Clean cycle using a washing machine cleaner to help remove any buildup that may affect sensor accuracy. Additionally, ensuring the washer is level and checking that the load is evenly distributed can help prevent it from constantly restarting and refilling.

If the issue persists, and you’ve already received advice about a control board replacement, we’d still love the chance to look into this further.

        Garbage
lg 5.0 TL is the worst appliance I've ever purchased. Clothes come out dirty and I can smell my perfume -on a normal wash 60 cycle Today the machine would not stop filling with water The helpline said, only wash a few shirts at a time and pants on another load ????? This machine is supposed to handle a queen-king sized comforter but can only handle a few shirts at a time? Also said use the speed wash cycle ???? if it's not getting clothes cleaning on a normal 60 cycle... how is speed washing going to help...and that still did not address the tub filling with water.

Review: 5.0 cu. ft. Top Load Washer in White with Impeller
After owning this washer for seven months, I have mixed feelings about it. While it has some good features, there are several major drawbacks that make me regret this purchase. Pros: ✅ Large Capacity – Great for washing big loads, including bedding. ✅ Quiet Operation – Runs smoothly with minimal noise. ✅ 25-Minute Quick Wash Option – Convenient for lightly soiled clothes. ✅ No Musty Smell – Unlike front loaders, this washer doesn’t develop odors. Cons: ❌ Quick Wash Limitations – The 25-minute quick wash only allows warm or cold water, not hot. ❌ High Water Usage – Uses significantly more water than my previous front-load washer, increasing my water bill by about $50 per month. ❌ Poor Cleaning Performance – Clothes often come out with detergent residue visibly on them or still smelling of perfume, making me question how thoroughly they are being cleaned. ❌ Ineffective Rinsing – Powder detergent and eco-friendly detergent sheets often leave visible residue, requiring a second wash. ❌ Frequent Unbalancing – The machine easily becomes unbalanced with heavier items, stopping the cycle entirely. When this happens, you have to restart from the beginning. ❌ Limited Water Levels – The washer only fills to a high level when using the "bedding" setting, which also uses an excessive amount of water. ❌ No Rinse-Only Option – If clothes still have detergent residue, there’s no easy way to rinse them without running an entire cycle again. The controls aren’t intuitive, and I haven’t been able to figure this out. Final Thoughts: While I appreciate the large capacity and quiet operation, the poor cleaning performance, excessive water usage, and lack of proper rinsing make this washer a disappointment. If you’re considering switching from a front loader, be aware that this machine may not clean as effectively and could lead to higher utility bills. I wouldn’t buy this washer again and regret not sticking with a front-load model.

Hi there, Kristi. We understand about the challenges you're experiencing with your LG 5.0 cu. ft. Top Load Washer (Model: WT7150CW including inadequate water levels, detergent residue, and unbalanced loads. Here are some insights and potential solutions:

Inadequate Water Levels and Poor Cleaning Performance

Many modern high-efficiency (HE) washers are designed to use less water, which can sometimes lead to concerns about cleaning efficacy. Some users have observed that these machines use minimal water, occasionally leaving clothes with dry spots.

          Potential Solutions:

Adjust Load Size: Overloading the washer can impede proper cleaning. Ensure that the drum is not overfilled and that clothes have enough space to move freely.

Use the 'Water Plus' Feature: This function adds extra water to the wash cycle, potentially enhancing cleaning performance.

          Detergent Residue on Clothes

The presence of detergent residue can result from several factors, including overloading, using too much detergent, or the washer not dispensing enough water for a thorough rinse. Users have reported visible detergent marks on clothing post-wash.

          Recommendations:

Moderate Detergent Use: HE washers require less detergent. Using more than the recommended amount can lead to residue buildup.

Select Appropriate Wash Cycles: For heavily soiled clothes, opt for cycles like 'Heavy Duty' or 'Deep Wash' to ensure a more rigorous cleaning process.

          Unbalanced Loads

Washing bulky items, such as bedding, can cause the washer to become unbalanced, leading to incomplete cycles or the need for manual intervention. This is a common issue with top-load washers when handling heavy or unevenly distributed loads.

          Suggestions:

Distribute Laundry Evenly: Place items uniformly around the agitator or impeller to maintain balance during the wash cycle.

Wash Bulky Items Separately: Consider washing large items like blankets or comforters individually to prevent imbalance.

          Increased Water Usage

Transitioning from a front-load to a top-load washer can result in higher water consumption. Some users have noted a noticeable increase in their water bills after making such a switch.

          Considerations:

Evaluate Wash Cycles: Some cycles may use more water than others. Reviewing the user manual can help identify more water-efficient settings.

Assess Laundry Habits: Washing full loads instead of multiple smaller ones can optimize water usage.

Leaks blue gel into the tub after every wash
Bought 3 weeks ago. From the first wash, the tub rim leaks blue gel after every wash. LG Customer service keeps trying to tell me it is the detergent (it's clear) or the softener (don't use any). Even after running the tub cleaning cycle multiple times and buying their tub cleaner they suggested, it still happens. Have to remove clothes immediately so they don't get stained. VERY frustrated with LG Customer Service. Other than that the washer and dryer are great. Home Depot can you help?

Hi, Mike. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your concern about the LG Washer (WT7150CW) model, especially after multiple attempts to resolve the issue with LG Customer Service. We certainly want to make sure we help you address this issue. We strive to provide high-quality products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations.

The blue gel leaking from the tub rim could indicate a detergent or fabric softener residue buildup, even though you're not using fabric softener. Another possible cause could be an issue with the washer's dispenser or a clog, which might be causing an overflow or improper drainage. We recommend checking the dispenser drawer for any blockages or residue buildup that could affect the cycle. Also, ensure the load is not too large, as overloading can sometimes cause issues with the wash cycle. Hi, there. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the LG Washer (WT7150CW) model. We understand your concern about finding damage or excessive lint on your clothing. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. To help minimize this, we recommend the following: Use the correct cycle & spin speed: Delicate fabrics should be washed on Low or No Spin to reduce wear.
Avoid overloading the washer: This ensures proper movement of clothes, reducing friction.
Check the agitator and drum: Sharp objects or rough spots inside the drum can contribute to fabric damage.
Sort clothes properly. Washing heavy items with delicates can increase wear.
Clean the washer tub regularly. Run a Tub Clean cycle to remove any lint buildup. Avoid this model
My apartment has this washer. It won't allow water level change for small loads, will not allow soaking of clothes BUT drains the soaking water within minutes wasting water & soap. Also clothes float bubbled up on surface since items do not circulate within washer at all creating unclean zones on items. Front loaders are much better than this model. Tub is so deep cannot reach small items on bottom. I have to lean in using step stool and tongs!

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the LG WT7155CW Top Load Washer. We understand how these concerns may affect your satisfaction with the unit. To address the water level, this washer uses an auto-sensing feature to determine the appropriate water amount for efficiency, but you can enhance water levels by selecting the "Deep Fill" option for larger loads. Regarding soaking, the washer is designed to drain after a short time to prevent oversaturation. For better circulation, we recommend redistributing the load evenly in the drum to allow proper agitation. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-wt7155cw-top-load-washer#pdp_specs We’d love to assist you further with these concerns. Large capacity washer is a welcomed improvement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After almost two months of using this new machine, we are very pleased with the quality and performance. It's the first glass top loader we have owned. Very attractive and durable. We got the large 4.8 cubic foot model and it is incredible.

Save your money for a SQ agitator washer
This agitator-less design does not properly clean your clothes. My white shirts have slowly turned dark gray after 1-2 years of using this washer. When I bring them to our In-laws with an agitator washer (same detergent) those grayed shirts become white again. I was baffled until I actually sat and watched the washer "clean". You can see the top clothes just sit there at the top doing nothing. Will get a Speed Queen instead. Now I know why the previous owners left the washer and dryer..

                      DO NOT BUY
I’ve had this washing machine for a little over a year and it is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. Safe yourself the stress/maintenance & buy another one.It does not clean your clothes, every time I do laundry I have to do an extra load to clean the items that come out dirtier. I do the clean cycle as instructed every 2 weeks. Just recently did a load that stained almost an entire load of my newborns clothes (pic below) & I’m so sad and beyond frustrated

We bought this a month ago it is very nice , we have washed several times now and it works very well, it will wash with a minimal amount of water and you can push deep fill to add more water, the stainless steel tub is awesome and at 4.8 cubic feet it’s the perfect size. We have had no issues so far.

Smell and residue coming out the holes
For the people on here that talk about the smell and residue, it will never go away. I cleaned mine regularly and even took it completely apart to see what was going on and cleaned it everywhere. Now less than a year later, with me still doing regular cleaning if not even more, it was the same, if not worse. What I figured out is you will never get those black particles out because the mold is in a spot you can not get to. Just put it back together and get something else when I can. Wasn’t able to redo picture but the first picture. Behind the white piece where it is all dirt, it is sealed and you can’t get all that out. It comes out of holes and you think it’s all gone but it’s not. You are also right about not enough water.. sometimes things don’t seem to get wet.

                            Seriously, Listen to the cons
Worked great until my clothes, especially darks, had white residue on them after wash. Then, the machine started to stink. I followed all the directions-left the lid open, used the tub wash cycle, dried the inside after use, etc. After washing the tub, I noticed dark brown chunks in the bottom. I washed it again. Still brown chunks. I contacted LG support. They sent a tech who washed the machine. Still brown chunks. I contacted LG again & they mocked me. Google LG washer brown chunks.

                              Worst Improvement in Washing Machines
Don't buy these energy efficient washers. They are not saving on anything. First, they don't get the clothes clean. I have to wash some things twice. Second, the soap doesn't rinse all the way out without an extra rinse cycle. It doesn't seem to matter the amount of the type of detergent. Third it'll randomly explode residue on to your clothes so you have to wash them 3 or 4 times to get them cleaned. Fourth, they take forever to wash. It takes 4 hours just to get 2 loads through.

                                LG Washer-Never Rust Drum
This is the best washer machine I have ever used! It is so easy to use. This machine is the top of the line, you can tell after doing your first load of laundry. It's actually enjoyable to do the laundry now believe it or not. Plenty of different cycles so you will never be dumbfounded as to which cycle will work the best. If you have a max full load, always use the bedding cycle even if it's not bedding, trust me?! I am so happy I bought this LG washer.

                                  STAY AWAY
Home Depot will sell you faulty equipment!!! Then they will find any way they can to weasel out of providing customer service! I spent $2000 on this set with the warranties included. They refuse to fix the issue, and they are blaming LG. In turn LG is blaming Home Depot. Both are refusing to replace the faulty equipment they sold me!! Stay away from Home Depot and LG. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CUSTOMERS BEST INTEREST AT HEART!

                                    Does Not Clean
This washer does not clean well. I only put 7 hand towels in this load and if you look at the picture you can see how well this machine works. I follow all manufacturers instructions when I wash and I use Tide but my clothes just don’t always come out clean. On some instances there are even dry spots on clothes after washing. Don’t waste your money on this washer. I don’t even feel comfortable trying to sell this pieces of junk to anyone.

                                      White clothes getting 'dinghy' color
Never had dinghy whites with 20+ year old washer. Only problem so far with this new washer. Should I add more water? Any suggestions? Using Tide pods. Thanks! Joyce

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this when my last washer from a different manufacturer quit for the third time in three years. It has performed magnificently and we are very pleased with it. We will only buy LG from now on.

                                        This WILL be a problem
FYI we followed the recommendations on this washing machine, running the tub CLEAN cycle. Feel free to look at the images provided. There is a big flaw design! The water sits in the tub (you wont see it) and doesn't completely leave causing mold to grow inside the second white tub. This eventually comes out into your clothes. We had to take the entire thing apart. There was so much mold. I did NOT think this was going to be a problem with a top loader but I was wrong. It's disgusting.

This washer was brought to replace the same make washer we had problems with lint being left on clothes. We thought they would have fixed this problem by now. ( WRONG)! After 1 week of use we are having the same problems! My sister inlaw had same problem with hers. ( LG NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM)!!! It’s not like they are not aware of this problem!! The internet is loaded with the same complaint!!

                                          Where do I even begin?.....
Let's just say, if anyone your family works any kind of physical labor job or a "messy job", you will be highly disappointed....period. Before placing any items in washer, you'll first have to literally hand wash or rinse any and all clothing, beding etc that are soiled even a little or they will look the same coming out that they did going in...even curtains that just hang there I had to hand scrub because swishing damp clothes aroud does NOT cause enough friction to "scrub" out simple dirt.

                                            Noise when opening the top
The washer washes great. I just have a question about opening the top and a loud clicking noise happens. Is this normal?

Only works with Cold; Deep Wash and Water Plus
The temperature options on this machine are bogus - no matter what you select it only uses straight cold water. Only by selecting "Deep Wash" and at the same time" Water Plus" will the machine put in even a reasonable amount of water - otherwise some items will never get submerged in the tiny bit of water this machine uses. So, per my photo, I added a laundry room faucet so I can add hot water and bring the water level up as needed – which is frequently.

                                                Great experience
After researching all top load washer brands, I decided to go with LG. The main deciding factor was the direct drive motor, and no belt. The slow close lid is a cool feature. The glass top is nice to be able to see the washing process. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase, the tub is really big, clothes come out very clean, and so quiet compared to my last GE. The delivery was supposed to be between 9-11am, the guys rang my doorbell at 9am sharp. Thanks Home Depot. 👍

This is my first LG appliance.  I’m impressed with the design and appliance efficiency. I was shocked to discover that this washing machine is so quiet when it’s running.  Choices on the control panel allow for cleaning difficult-to-clean clothing. I don’t believe I’ve ever filled this washer to the maximum load level.    I’ve had this washer for 8 months and continue to make pleasant discoveries.

I did my research and found that LG was at the top of the list with Consumer Report as well as numerous reviews on YouTube. I particularly like the flexibility provided by the wash cycles. The washer is quiet and I enjoy having the ability to look through the led to check water level. Being old school, I like the water level that the deep wash provides.
