Never really looked at the Milwaukee boxes due to their higher prices, but when this 46" went on sale I snatched one up immediately. Was even less expensive than comparable Husky 52". I wanted a red box because I already had a red tool cart, and I just much prefer the red boxes in general. This Milwaukee comes with all the bells and whistles except a light bar. I added my own led magnetic light strips. Already comes with a shop towel holder, compressor line or cord holder, bottle opener, foldable spray can side shelf, and long pry bar holder. Has more drawers than other DIY brands, and they are deeper too at 22". All are soft close, which I really enjoy. The matte red powdercoat finish is really high quality and beautiful to me. I had it shipped to me for free and it arrived double stacked each on their own pallet. The casters were already installed with the pallet just built around them. Just had to remove 3 long lag bolts from each corner of the pallet and the cabinet rolled right out. Both sections were packed in thick carboard, styrafoam, and plastic. The box arrived undamaged - no dents or scratches at all. Placing the chest on top of the cabinet is a pretty easy lift for two strong guys even though it weighs 275#. The nice and beefy side handles worked well. I recommend setting a 12x12 brick on each front side of the floor so that the guys lifting can step up a few inches making it a simple lift. I'm really enjoying getting more organized with my new Milwaukee box.

Just bought my 2nd Milwaukee 56"set for $1100+ tax. Found them North Arlington TX. Purchased the top and bottom boxes separately, saved $400. Outstanding product.

After waiting for some long for this to come available I finally get it home and find out the colors don't even match. plus I had a drawer slide that was misaligned and keeps the drawer from opening. For the money I expected better

The red post in the center of the top box has 2 tiny welds at the top (mine were broke when new). This is a design flaw which does not appear on other models. It will break if the box is moved & drawers are loaded. I had to repair mine prior to use :(

This really met my needs, overall great box, wish it had a little deeper drawers.

Use this at work and it has plenty of space for my needs. I wish it had a few more attachments like tool hanger and paper towel holder that are on other Milwaukee tool chests. It's hard to find 1/4 pegboard hooks. 1/8 is all I ever find and they fall out too easily. It also has 3 locks with two separate keys which is frustrating. It would be great if I could get matching locks so I only needed one key. My only big complaint is the drawer with the work surface that has a lid. The lid won't stay up on its own, as soon as you let go of it, it will slam down.

NOT THE SAME PRODUCT AS THE 46" VERSION. There are significant differences between this and the 46 that you may not learn about without my telling you. I have both models and had assumed that this would make a nice matched set. That is mostly true but, to start, the casters are an inch smaller (5" vs 6"), so the cabinets are different heights. The 46 that I received (also from Home Depot) came with a number of accessories that are not included on MY 36 -- towel holder, folding shelf, screwdriver holder and brackets suitable for horizontal storage of a tool or two (I have a level there). One thing to be aware of is that the fixed casters are permanently fixed parallel to the wall and cannot be changed 90 degrees. So if you have a spot between two other fixtures where you'd like to shove this (or the 46), it cannot be done. They only move left to right, like a car, so you'll be doing parallel parking. For some reason the drawers on my 36 are stiff compared to the 46. I'm hoping that with time they will become smooth. I'd like to elaborate on how to install the drawers relatively painlessly but I don't think this review is the place to do that. Just be aware that it is not easy, especially with the wide or deep drawers, and a helper is advised. My technique makes it possible for an individual to do it, so if you want to ask a question, perhaps HD will ask me to answer it. OK, there's one other difference between the two sizes. My 46 came with the casters installed, so when the packaging was removed it was resting on the casters. The 36 required that I install them. These casters are not available as replacement parts from Milwaukee. Your product may be different. It is possible that mine, being a "special buy", might have been stripped of those accessories I mentioned.

I'm disappointed that considering the amount of money the tool chest cost, even on sale, there are a few significant manufacturing flaws. 1) The main lock doesn't function correctly. When in the unlocked position, all the right side drawers and the bottom drawer are still locked but the left side stays are unlocked as expected. I can unlock only one right side drawer at a time OR the bottom drawer if I continuously turn the key to the far right. As soon as I close the drawer it locks again. How did this pass quality inspection. 2) The drawer divider is welded crooked (image attached). Could it be the cause of the lock not working correctly?

what a disappoint this turned out to be. The bottom chest is fine but the top is a diaster! Its missing the bumpers with the aluminum trim and the 3 draws on the right plus the bottom draw do not open all the way. The locking mechanism is loose and messed up. You need to turn the key and pull on the draw to get it to open all the way. I would have been fine with the parts missing but with the draws not opening fully i will have to return it. Too bad i own tons of Milwaukee tools and never ever had a problem with one thing. This is my first tool chest and i figured i would go for the gusto and spurlge on the Milwaukee what a mistake! Oh i forgot, the bracket that connects the top and bottom that goes on the back is also missing.

I absolutely love this . Very strong construction and totally cool features made this a no brainer ! Also, when I bought it on line and it was delivered , it went on sale at my local Home Depot . I called and they gave me the sale price ! My favorite feature is the bottom drawer with slots for my Milwaukee tools and batteries and the power strips built in . I am VERY happy . I have not one issue with it .

Easy to assemble. My husband loves the soft close drawers and that he has room for all his tools to be organized.

This is the real deal. A sturdy, well built, strong material, heavy duty and heavy weight, tough and cool looking rollaway...nice accessories for multiple applications. Prior to purchase this tool box rollaway, I've research for a couple of months different manufacturers at different location and the internet. This Milwaukee is by far one of the best for the price. Personally I think way better than SnapOn and way cheaper.

This 36" Milwaukee brand chest/cabinet combo is awesome. The drawers are strong and open/close mechanism is perfect. The locks work fine, just must give a little push inward to engage the locking mechanism. This could be considered "military-grade", the steel is heavy grade and this bad-boy is HEAVY! When I tipped it over to put on wheels, I used a thick roll of old carpet to soften the landing and give a figure hold to "right the ship". It take two strong people to move the chest on top of the cabinet. My only issues were the drawer mat was trimmed poorly so the main mat was a little small, will reach out to company for that fix. The other issue was two of the self-tapped bolt holes that hold the back bracket to join the chest with the cabinet were NEVER tapped. I fixed it with cable tie since no way to fix this other than returning item. I may try to tap it my self. See pics below. The arrow in photo was factory placed. The assembly person missed the self tapped bracket holes as photo shows an empty drill hole. Definitely better than other brands I have used or reviewed in person comparing at the same price point.

Well built and works for my needs. Did months of pining and finally pulled the trigger. Happy customer so far.

This tool box is somewhat heavy. This tool box is worth every cent and looks amazing. Ckmes with two hooks, paper towel holder, two power strips, pull out table, bottle opener, and screw driver holder. Now if you’re going to pick up this tool box, the top is snall enough to get in the back of a Kia Sorento. The bottom is 40” height not including the big pallet it on. I highly recommend just renting one of their trucks to get both to your deisred location in one shot. The truck had ramos and it helps alot. With this toolbox i still have to find a dislike about it. Worth it.

Expensive unit - Video review mentions the unit cost $700. Actual purchase was $1200 after tax. Can only be purchased at Home Depot. I feel like I paid more than I should have, but this unit is very well built. I love the slow close feature on the drawers. It came well packed and was easy to assemble. I am very happy with my purchase. Would recommend this unit to my friends.

Great tool box. There is a lot of room and a lot of quality

Love the features this box has, nice storage in drawers and very smooth operation. Only thing disappointing are the scratches in the paint on the top box and dent in the bottom box. Not sure if I should finish putting it together. I hope they come up with a 40 or 41 inch top and bottom box size.

Tool box was easy to put together and very well built. Wish i went with the 56" instead of the 46". Drawers are very smooth opening and closing. Wish there was a light at the top of the cabinet and wish the outlets were on seperate ends instead of both being on one side. Great toolbox for the price

So I had high expectations when I bought this tool box. I was disappointed when I realized the styrofoam scuffed the paint on the base. The paint was also touched up and there are spots that will rust sooner than they should. I also found that the latches that are supposed to let you take the drawers out are over tightened and they aren't serviceable. The fasteners are also very low quality. I'm very disappointed!!!

solid chest. drawers vary in depth to custom fit any tool from jewelers screwdriver set to industrial air compressor tools at the bottom. wish I had this years ago

I purchase this box on Friday May 31 from the local store close to my house. On initial inspection this box is very nice and eye catching due to its impressive size and color combination; the Milwaukee powered red and black stand out very nicely from the competitors and the silver accents help it even more. During that initial walk around you can see the two built in power strips one on the chest internally and the other on the cabinet externally; to include four overall USB charging ports within the power strips. On the lower right section of the cabinet one can see the utility shelf which is conveniently mounted just below the external power strip aiding in the mounting and utilization of additional chargers of various power tool combinations. Also, it is extremely hard to ignore the stout and robust 5" casters which this tool box is equipped with given it stability and maneuverability when moving the complete unit from one location to another. It even include an old school bottle opener on the upper left corner of the cabinet section. Internally this box comes equipped with 10 drawers on the bottom (The Cabinet section) and 8 drawers in the upper (The Chest section). The Upper also has a personal drawer which is equipped with its own built-in lock, adding further security and protection to the technicians valuables. Also, there is a desk top drawer which is on the lower left section of the cabinet which provides an additional work station which can be utilized for computer terminal usage or other troubleshooting tools or literature. I like the idea of a central open and big drawer which can be used for wrenches and the other for regular and deep well sockets; the only thing I didn't like about these big drawers was the bottom one comes with a mid slide which is mounted 3/4 of the way on the right side of the box thus, not affording a central support for that drawer, so if you have it full of sockets like I do then the lower left section of the drawers rubs on the bottom frame section of the box. They should have added an additional support beam on that left section and also another slide so that the drawer would be able to balance the load. As far as the individual drawer slides they all seem to work just find I just wish they would mount them to the tool box with a different fastener other than the 5/32" rivets which they used to mount all the slides to the box; it would have been nice if they had a similar system to those used by either Snap-On or MAC on their boxes. The soft close feature of the drawers works very well it will even improve more once you grease your slides, on mine some where a little dry and were closing half way or not all the way. In regards to the electronic locks they seem to work pretty well; the only thing I encounter was if you loose battery power and try to utilized your key to open the lock it will not released the key once open unless it has a fresh battery powering the unit. I don't know if this is an additional security feature, but I did encounter this issue while manipulating the locks (was trying to find out what would give me some issues). Also, you must ensure the personal drawer on the upper right corner of the Cabinet is completely seated and close within its slides; so that the lock does not jam on it or close behind it. This was the only drawer I experienced that issue with. In closing this is a very good box which would be an AWESOME STARTER TOOL BOX for an up and coming technician who does not have the financial capabilities of buying a Snap-On or MAC box. I do think seasoned technicians would agree with me in some of my observations and I know that with these issues being completely addressed this would be a very NICE tool box for any technician to own.

Purchased 3/14/19. Excellent quality. I really like the smooth opening & closing of the drawers, especially the hydraulic close of the last inch. The sturdy wheels made it easy to move around. Both chests appear to be made of a heaver gauge steel than others I have looked at. The price is in line with the lesser made brands and less expensive than the ones made of this quality. I only have two suggestions: An 8' ft. roll of LED strip lighting (folded in half) for under the hood & 4 strong people to set the top chest on the bottom chest. This Combo is a winner in Quality as well as Price!

In love with this new 56'' box. Disclaimer - They do not make me money. I buy whatever works for me at the moment. I am a DIYer and I do all the wife's families vehicles. Not shown - my locker which has everything from OTC master balljoint kit, seal drivers, OB2 - diag kit from launch and tons of other specialty stuff... some day I will have a shop - however - I probably won't be wrenching... Although I just did replace my own 4L60-e trans in my truck.... Have a great weekend people!

Was so exited to receive my new tool chest. When it arrived I was so happy. I Liked how the bottom cabinet had the casters installed and the only thing to do on that one was unscrew the pallet that was designed to be removed very easily since it is very heavy. upon opening the top cabinet and setting it on top of the bottom cabinet, I started to notice blemishes in the powder coating and the overall rough, unrefined finish to the box. Heavy grinder marks clearly visible, mediocre powder coating finish, and top lid is misaligned to the overall shape of the box. I am aware some people feel all the thing does is hold your tools but I for one feel it is poor workmanship and would never be good with my work appearing to be this low quality and expecting my customers to be good with it. Maybe it was an early production unit but it's not worth the $1500 price tag. Didn't even get to play with the electric locks. I have a 52" matte black Husky box that had none of these issues that I wanted to replace. Not much of an upgrade in terms of quality. Home depot made the return effortless. Got to love HD.

I recently decided to add the Milwaukee tool chest and cabinet to my tool storage collection and could not be happier. Add the Milwaukee 52 in. 11-Drawer Mobile Work Center and you got a tough, dependable tool storage system that will last a lifetime with more space then you can fill. What I cannot forget is the knowledge and support Steve the Tool Manager at the Melbourne store provided.
