poorly built
Welding work is really sub par for the cost. Sharp metal pieces all over welded areas.

    Light duty
The 60x24 box is not secure enough for outside storage. Bought it for the jobsite and it is going to have to stay in the shop. Thin steel, bad welds- it would probably fold open with a pry bar. I have other Greenlee and Klein boxes and this thing belongs in a kids bedroom full of stuffed animals. Tiny single bolt is all that secures the lock.

Great place to store your stuff
My garage is running out of space, I wanted to move some of my tools outside. Very heavy, hard to carry. The handles are not that useful to me and take up a lot of storage. Have not seen any moisture inside the box. Seems weatherproof. If I had to do it over again, I would get a wider box to store longer items I don't want the kids getting access to. I received this box for free to write this review.

      REALLY heavy duty storage
I needed a way to store tools in areas of my ranch where they could be stolen without my knowledge. I can use this box down near the highway without worrying that the tools will disappear. This box is weather tight and made of heavy steel. Once it is locked with padlocks it would take real perseverance to remove the contents. I plan on bolting the box down just to make sure that no one can pick up the entire box and contents and haul it off. In addition to the anti theft aspects of the box I can leave tools where I am working and not have to worry about them getting wet.

      Perfect Jobsite Storage Box!
Ridgid always makes quality tools and boxes, and this one is no exception. The box is sturdy and heavy. It is not the largest one Ridgid makes, but it has plenty of room for tools and hardware. It also has 2 u-bolts that attach to each end to enable locks to be added for secure storage outside. The lid is heavy but easy to open and close. Overall, this a solid multipurpose storage box

Sturdy, Roomy, Lockable, and it has skid loader holes
My original plan was for a place to consolidate my cordless tools. I was surprised by the roominess and sturdiness of this storage box. As stated in it's description it is designed for on site usage. That being said, it has the capability of being bolted into a truck bed and also has skid tube fittings on the bottom for easy loading in a truck. It also has fold out handles on each side in case you don't have a skid handy. Other features are that it can be locked and has a protected opening for running an electrical cord into the box to charge batteries etc. There are places for two padlocks on the front. The lid is designed to not slam shut...it can be opened partially and will remain open without support.

great for garage and its portable
Rigid model RB32 Jobsite Storage Box. This is a powder coated Job Box, 32” wide x 15” tall x 19” deep. The job box’s feet add another 4” to it’s height. It has a piano hinge and a lockable lid that closes over a raised lip on the box that makes the Job Box resistant to weather. It has an arm that can be pushed down in the middle to prevent the lid being closed accidently such as by a puff of wind. It can be set in the back of a pickup truck or a trailer. It can be locked using 2 padlocks (not included); the pad locks need to measure 7/8” to 1” between the body of the pad lock and the inside of the shackle. I like it because it is a lockable personal tool size box that is great for shared workspaces.

Home Depot needs to have a long talk with Ridgid/Knaack about these boxes
When I finally saw that these were in stock at a HD an hour away..I thought..."Why not?"...They had plenty in stock. Easy to load and the price was right. That's about all that went right was the service. First off, it looks like Knaack(they make these boxes in Mexico BTW) uses "learning welders". There's no way any company lets a product ship with the kind of issues this box had and not know it. The welds are a little over done. Spatter isn't that terrible. The welds are the real issue with this box. The right lock bar that hold the lock in place when its locked were welded onto the wrong place. One was bent to the right and a 1/4 inch in the wrong direction. The hook part that locks the Lock in place hits the lock box where the padlock goes. Easy to tell cause you can see where it takes the paint right off. The left side Lock Box was welded into the right place but "forward" of where it needed to be...The hook part scrubs the front of the Lock Box and just takes the paint right off of both. With time I imagine it will wear itself down to a non-issue. You'd think these welders would have a template to go by. Tape it to the metal...mark it with a sharpie then remove the template and go from there. I guess not. The right Lock Box was welded crooked. Both were too "long" for both locks to lock correctly. I fixed that issue with using Paclock locks for Ridgid boxes and some high density plastic to shore them up. 1/16 inch pieces to be exact...I had to put the plastic behind the lock hasp and then tighten them down for the locks to lock correctly. It did work though and have had 0 issues since. In the middle of the box...on the outside there are 2 points that are very sharp...I mean sharp....Even with paint on them. Be careful with that. Paint job is good....no issues with the vanity of the box. There is spatter but they just paint right over it...inside there's some sorta liquid that dried in the creases and they just painted over that to..not a big deal though. My dilemna at the time was do I spend $300 on this Ridgid box or spend $550 on a Knaack. That was an EZ answer cause I didn't have the extra $250 to spend. Would I do it again? Yeah...because I can take the time to fix the issues this box gave me without having to break the bank. I can't tell you how close I was to driving this box back and trying to find one at HD to replace it....we're talking 120+ miles there and back...but I didn't...I tried masterlock 5 series locks and the just wouldn't fit right. I did a little research and found these Paclock's and it really saved me time and stress of having to deal with a long drive and hassle of a return. I'm a staunch Ridgid tool customer and love the tool line and the LSA. I've had no issues with any of my Ridgid power tools....but...Read the negative reviews in here and heed the warnings on this box. It's a crap shoot you'll get an acceptable one. Either that or just rig it up like I did and move on with life. pictures attached

        Poor design
DO NOT BUY RECOMMEND LOCK!!! The size they recommend is 38mm. The box clearly states 30mm or smaller. Made the mistake of buying the recommended size lock and it did not work. The size 27mm ended up fitting the locking mechanism but is flush with the outside of the box so I had to put a wire around it so I could get it back open once I locked it. Its terribly designed and welds look like an apprentice did them. I could of welded it better myself. Very disappointed for how much I paid for it. The hooks for the locking mechanism were also twisted/ bent so I had to straighten them out.

            Wouldn’t buy it again
The welds are really bad and theres a lot of welding spatter that they didn’t cleaned and in some spots I can see the color of the metal like if it needed another painting coat

i like the box. i lucked out in the fact that mine was not damaged in any way. there seems to be some confusion on what lock fits, so i took a picture of the exact lock that worked for me!

I already sent in a review of this product. The quality control of the orange powder coating, packaging and Home Depot delivery to me was totally unacceptable. This is my third survey request I have received. Home Depot and Rigid have not addressed the issue and I will not be recommending this product to anyone.

                5pts for forklift damage.
how do you deform the job box along a welded seam by an inch and not damage the cardboard packing? hope the cardboard is not stronger than the steel box. i was so impressed by the full gasket on the lid compared to the other brands that I bought this.

My box is great and holds everything I need. My only problem is when I picked it up from the store, it was missing the 2 ubolts that hold the locks in place. I had to go back to the store to get them. It was also missing and still is missing the black rubber seal for one side of my box whenever I got it.

Pretty good buy! Using it in a truck bed
This box is pretty nice, good value. Bought this because I had a 2010 Silverado 1500 with a typical crossover toolbox, but my new truck a 2017 Ram 1500 won't allow the crossover box to fit. I don't like to drill holes in my truck, so I used no drill clamp mounts. These won't fit on the Ram. So I got this 48in Rigid box. I secured it to the bed with braided steel security cables and lvl 10 masterlocks. I then used bungees to make sure it was tight against the bed and would not move. This box is great, it holds a whole lot of tools. There is a lot more space in the Rigid box than in a similar price crossover tool box. I had a little bit of trouble with the lock installation. I used the M1XT Lvl8 MasterLock Magnums. The left side worked great. The right side would not engage fully. I exchanged the locks for another set of M1XT. Left side worked again, right did not again. So I got another MasterLock lvl8 Magnum, but it was slightly bigger, a just above 1in, I believe it was 1 and 1/4 in. This worked for the right side so now my box locks. I think the issue was the part where the U bolt goes to secure the right side, it was slightly bent so the lock was sitting too far recessed so it wouldn't fully engage. All in all, good buy!

Not nearly as secure as advertised. Store cookbooks or kids toys, but don't put anything valuable inside. 6 weeks old. Advertised as engineered for security and intended for use on construction sites, where theft can happen... I bought the MasterLock padlocks intended for the box. No problem with the fit or latches. All a burglar needs to open this is a drill and high-speed bit. The MasterLock recommended gets bored out, the locks pop open and all your tools are gone. I was worried about a couple guys carrying off the whole box and chained it down. Turns out a drill that everyone has is all you need to get inside.

                      would not buy again
right out of the box almost every weld is terrible. porosity in every weld. metal seems thin but no dents in mine. I've read a lot of people having issues with the locks. I don't need to lock mine any time soon so don't have to worry about that issue yet. this purchase has me wondering if Ridgid even has a quality control division because they definitely missed the mark. do not plan on ever buying a ridgid tool after looking this job box over. it'll serve its purpose for me but I would not recommend or buy this again.

This is a big box - 48’’ wide, 24” deep, 29” high, and 149 lb. Laying it on its side, I was able to load it into my SUV with the help of a Home Depot employee, and I unloaded it myself. Be sure to inspect the box at the store, or you may well be doing this loading and unloading exercise again. These boxes are often dented, plus can be subject to rough handling at the store. Before buying this box, several years ago I had purchased the smaller version, and returned it after finding a dent in it. Every Ridgid box of that size in the store had dents so I gave up in frustration. These dents look like they occur at the factory prior to painting. I’m not a welder, but took a high school course in the subject many years ago. In my opinion, some of the welds look sloppy. Again, ask a Home Depot employee to cut the plastic straps and bend back the cardboard packaging so you can check it over. I know, this is just a $300 box that will in many cases be subject to rough use in the workplace, but why let the factory and Home Depot get away with selling defective products? I don’t want a box that looks like someone hit it with a meat cleaver. If enough people reject the defective boxes, maybe Home Depot and Ridgid will get the message. My box looks good in the garage. It is a nice looking box overall. I bought the box shortly before my wife and I left for vacation. Even though we have big dogs, an alarm system, gun safes, and had hired a house sitter, having the box gives me extra peace of mind and security for valuable tools and other items. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this box is great for storing those heavy military surplus ammunition cans and guns too. It will keep your stuff out of sight, clean, and cool. I use Master No. 5 padlocks and they seem to work well. The U-bolts and lock nuts used to attach the padlocks worked fine and installed in seconds. I left the U-bolts slightly loose, which seems to let the padlocks latch and unlatch easier. After filling up the box, I then decided I would prefer to have casters on it and be able to move the monster around. Like many purchasers have explained, Home Depot does not have the right ones in stock. Neither did other big box stores. You will need casters with a square pattern, 3” inch center-to-center bolt spacing.
