This new Ryobi corner sander is much quieter and better quality than my previous Ryobi model. It's a nice addition to my other Ryobi hand tools.

The instructions were unclear about the method to empty the dust catcher. The performance of the sander was good throughout for most applications although the finest grit size easily available was too large for sanding between coats of polyurethane.

Excellent Sander - Great Value
I picked up this sander as a replacement for an old corded sander. Ryobi gives you the freedom to work anywhere and it's easy to use. It has a comfortable grip with minimal vibration. The hook & loop pad make attaching sandpaper easy and it doesn't leave swirl marks. The dust collection bag holds a lot of dust but it does tend to come off every now and then. You'll need to push it back into place occasionally. I've had it for 6 months and I recommend it.

      The refinishing experience
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great buy. We used this to refinish a furniture set we bought online. It makes sanding headboards and footboards a breeze.

Great tool, but wish it was a bit smaller overall
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well built, typical great Ryobi quality, fairly quiet and low vibration for this type of tool. Only down side is its size, wish it was a bit smaller, like my corded corner sander. And with a battery on this tool, it's bigger still, quite a handful even for a large man's hand. I bought this to avoid getting around a cord, especially in difficult spaces. This Ryobi sander certainly provides the cordless convenience but is a bulky tool to work in difficult spaces.

I have really come to enjoy the Ryobi line of 18volt tools for my wooden toy making. Great products, and seem to hold up to my demands

Needed to sand the side of a dresser to shave it down where it’s fit in a gap in the closet…the cordless sander was easy to maneuver and ise, and had enough power to get the job done.

          Quality Sander
Good for the person needing an occassional sander, home use. I used this primarily to finish sanding my deck after what the drum floor sander would not get. Only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that the neck that attaches to the collecter bag to the sander itself kept coming off. I used 40 grit paper to remove rustoleum restore from my deck with it. Also make sure you have plenty of batteries if doing a big project. I have 5 4ah batteries and 3 1.5ah. I had to use them all before the first one was recharged. Or get a rapid charger.

I love this Ryobi corner cat finish sander!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sander works great my wood & resin projects. The fact that it is battery operated makes it so much easier to handle. Very power, excellent for hard to reach areas and very convenient. I wish I would have gotten it much sooner.

Cheap Junk by a Real person
Honestly, it is 100% cheap junk. It's not worth the time and money or takes to go and get it. The sandpaper is too short and doesn't stay on the sander probably because the cheap crap metal used as clamps that I would expect to see in 1984. The bag is utterly worthless and doesn't catch anything. I am taking this junk back and just doing it the old way, by hand, at least it doesn't cost me the headache this junk will cause you. Do not buy this!

                Powerful small sander
The Ryobi Corner Cat Sander is a great tool for sanding in tight spaces. It has a unique shape that makes it easy to get into corners and around edges. The sander is also very lightweight, making it easy to maneuver. It comes in handy daily for me and my small business where I have small areas to sand on the home decor signs that I make. Overall, I would recommend the Ryobi Corner Cat Sander to anyone who needs a sander for small projects. It is a great tool and it is very easy to use.

                  Decent for small jobs
Sander works well, but would recommend only for small jobs. Used it to refinish an outdoor planter with 4ah batteries. On full charge and continual use you’ll get about 30-45 minutes before you need to swap. A bit heavy with bigger batteries, but not a deal breaker. I did have a problem with the dust collector repeatedly falling off. It happened enough times to be annoying. Overall, I still prefer a corded sander, but for the price this will come in handy for quick projects.

                    You need this set!
The upgrades make the difference! I own the P401 and P411 and both work great and have lasted years. I bought the PCL416B and the PCL406B because I needed both for my Engineering/Woodworking students and the reduced vibration, ease of battery removal, on/off switch, stop time and much less noise have made a huge difference! We first used the old ones and then the new models I loved the difference and the students did also. This is a must have for any project that you need to sand for more than 10 minutes.

This Ryobi corner finish sander works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has a nice grip to help you control your sanding. Control switch is located on the top front for easy accesses. Hook and loop so you can change your sandpaper quick and easy. The pointed end of the paper on some of my work wears out faster than the back so all i do is just reposition the paper and sand some more. There is an optional dust collector, that you can purchase to hook up with your system. Light weight easy to use and this is part of the Ryobi 18volt system works for me.

                      Perfect for Small Jobs
This finish sander is terrific for small jobs around the house because of its size. I have already used it on a few projects but am waiting for the weather to warm up so I can re-finish a teak table and chairs that I have on my deck. The chairs have a lot of nooks and crannies where this sander will definitely excel. The sander is simple to use. Basically, all you need to do is apply the sanding sheets (three are included with the sander) to the hook-and-loop pad surface, attach a Ryobi battery, and then turn it on. The on/off switch is a little "squishy" for my taste and takes a little effort to depress. I would have preferred a more distinct "clicking" feel when using them, but they do the job. The sanding sheets are perforated so that you can rotate the upper (pointed) portion if it wears out, thus extending the life of the sanding sheet. A port is located on the side of the sander to accommodate an adapter if you want to attach a vacuum hose to catch excess dust. So far I haven't needed it but I will definitely purchase one before tackling the teak table and chairs. The sander is "hand-sized" and thus comfortable to hold and manipulate. Even with the battery, it is fairly lightweight so no need to worry about fatigue when using it. Like all other Ryobi products, this sander is well-made and accommodates all of their regular-sized batteries. Highly recommended.

                      Nice finish sander!
The RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless Corner Cat Finish Sander should be the perfect sander to sand the bottoms on the trays that I make with my CNC router. The sander uses standard hook & loop sandpaper that simply presses on the sanding plate for easy install and removal. Three sheets of sandpaper are included with the sander, one each of 60, 120, and 240 grit. I am little disappointed that the sander doesn’t include an on-board dust port, but it does include a vacuum port that allows it to be connected to a vacuum adapter that can be purchased separately. I plan to use the sander as is, without purchasing a vacuum adapter because the other methods of sanding (hand sanding, oscillating tool with sanding attachment or Dremel tool) that I use don’t have dust collection either. I am done making trays for this holiday season, but I tested the sander on several pieces and it works great.

                      Must Buy!!
If you are going to purchase one random orbital sander for your wood work, this is the one to buy. It does all the work that a circular orbital sander does, but it has the added benefit of being able to reach into corners. I like how it uses the hook and loop system to attach the sanding pads, so they are easy to apply and remove. My other sander uses the adhesive sanding pads, and if you leave them on too long, they are hard to pull off. Not so with this Ryobi Corner Cat sander. This sander is very simple to use, and fits in the palm of your hand nicely. It comes with a 60, 120, and 240 grit sanding pad.

Ryobi Model PCL416B 18 volt Corner Finish Sander Is a Great tool I can Now sand into the corners of my projects
This model PCL416B Ryobi 18v cordless corner finishing sander gives me the ability to finish my projects completely. Compact is size at only 6 ¼’’ d 3 3/4’’w and 5 ¾’’ h so it can fit in some small spaces great for restoration projects that you cannot take apart. The triangle hook and loop base makes it easy to change the sandpaper and the point lets you sand in those corners for nice clean finish most of the wear on the sandpaper is on the front of the paper so when it gets worn, I can just change the tip if I want. This has a lot less vibration than my other sanders and with the top and front grip I can control it better great when you have to sand a large project or a close corner/space. Rocker control switch in front for easy on/off. You can purchase a dust collector for this the part number is [ A21CCV1] so you can use your dust collection system with an id of 1 ¼’’ or 1 7/8’’ diameter vacuum hose. This came with one each of 240 grit.120 grit and 60 grit sandpaper. Read the operators manual and follow the safety warnings. This can be used for polishing scrubbing also, it just works. Backed by a three-year warranty from Ryobi use it

                      Excellent All Around Value
For evaluation purposes, I did some sanding on a desktop that I'm planning to refinish. I used 80 grit to test removal of surface variations and the sander went through the existing finish right down to - and removing wood, levelling things out. Moving on to 120 and finally 180 (still on the existing finish) the result was a silky and smooth. The exhaust port hooked up easilly to my Rigid shop vac removing virtually all dust. The action of the unit is steady and feels good in the hand with no added pressure needed, eliminating fatigue. This sander doesn't have hook and loop adhesion for the sanding sheets which is ok, because there's no pad to change later. It's a single speed sander, but I find that even on my variable speed sander, I tend to use the same setting repeatedly anyhow. I personally didn't feel that this was a limitation. It's a high quality basic sander that does a good job. The hole puncher that it comes with isn't very great, however, but that's not an issue for me as I would buy pre-punched sand paper anyhow.

A great sander with no cords attached.
The RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless 1/4 in. Sheet Sander is powerful, fast, and very convenient. It is so enjoyable to use a sander with no cords attached. This sander is one of many Ryobi tools that share the same ONE+ 18-volt Lithium battery. I have many tools in this family and love them all. This is the first cordless sander I’ve owned and love it. It uses a 1/4 sheet of sandpaper that can either clamp in for non-adhesive sandpaper or adhesive backed sandpaper with pressure sensitive adhesive backing that sticks to the cushion of the sander. Included is a plastic stand for setting the sander on so you don’t sit it on your finished project. This model is a tool-only meaning there is no battery but if you own other Ryobi One+ tools with batteries, the batteries are all interchangeable. The 18-volt Lithium batteries, in the One+ family, are long lasting and hold their charge well when stored. The product comes with 3 - 1/4 sheets of various courses: 80, 120, and 220 grit. Also included is a dust collector or you can connect your vacuum cleaner to it with either a 1-1/4” or 1-7/8” hose. The sander is powerful and rates a 14,000 Orbits per Minute speed. The on/off switch is conveniently located on the top front of the sander. The Operator’s Manual is in 3 languages: English, French, and Spanish. This is a great sander and I strongly recommend it. Made in China.

                      Perfect for Everyday DIY
I own at least a dozen RYOBI ONE+ power tools and have always had a great experience with them all. They are affordable for an everyday homeowner and their build quality has been that of more expensive name brand tools. I wanted this RYOBI ¼ Sheet Sander to finish the front door which is a project that I need to do about every five years because the door has a southern exposure and it gets baked by the sun here in Arizona. I like the dust collection feature when using the ¼ sheets with holes to channel the sanded material. Made in China with a 3 Year Warranty.

                      Great little but mighty sander
This sander tool is a must have. It is compact and lightweight but very powerful. It is cordless which I love, just put your battery in it and you can sand for as long as you battery will last, in my case, I was able to sand off and on for 4 hours. Easy to switch between sanding discs. I also hooked up my sander to the vacuum cleaner so the majority of the dust would be sucked. However, it does come with dust bag. It is easy to set up. Easy to clean. Easy to work with. Would definitely recommend it.

Great sanding performance with easy handling
This is a great value for a compact battery-powered sander. We've used this on a number of outdoor cedar pieces of furniture we built for a pergola in our backyard and really liked its performance. The sander's performance was good and we found it very easy to handle. It fit comfortably in the hand and could easily be rotated without much "fighting" the unit's inertia. Unlike many similar units, this one does not use Velcro-backed sandpaper, relying instead on 2 mechanical spring loaded clamps. It was easy to load and unload the sandpaper, and it stayed in place quite well. Aligning the sawdust waste collection openings in the sandpaper was easy as well. The unit also lasted long enough on a small 2Ah battery to sand 6 large cedar 6' swings before it exhausted its charge. The only issue we had with this unit was with the dust collection bag. It would not stay on the unit very long and when it did blow off, it lost some of its contents. Not a huge issue, but it should have worked better. The sandpaper itself is not the easiest to find either. Ryobi sells these 1/4 sheets in various package quantities, and interestingly, the larger quantity packages do not have the lowest unit price. Other manufacturers sell 1/4 sheet sandpaper, but few, if any, have the needed hole pattern. The unit also comes with a nice holder to safely store the unit, but the holder could be improved if it came with a way to physically attach it to a shelf or other location. We would have given this 5 stars if the dust bag would have stayed attached, but really do like this sander and definitely recommend it.

Dust Catcher Falls Off Too Easily
I have several Ryobi tools and have been very satisfied with them so I ordered this sander. It does not come with the battery but I already had that. I used it to sand the flat portion of some of my bathroom cabinets prior to putting the stain on. It worked well except for the fact that the dust catcher would not stay on. That is why I only gave it four stars. It is noisy but that is typical for sanders.

                      compact sander
I am a huge fan of the Ryobi One+ 18V cordless tools! This compact sander is a great addition to my Ryobi collection. It was a little difficult to get the 1/4 sheet sandpaper to stay on the tool but after some manipulation of the paper, it finally stayed on. The tool comes with a 1/4 sheet of 220, 120 and 80 grit sandpaper. also comes with a dust bag. The dust is drawn up through the holes in the sandpaper during sanding. It can be removed so that you can attach your own vacuum hose to collect a larger amount of dust. This particular tool does not come with the Ryobi 18V battery but I have about 10 of them so I always chose the "tool only" options. There's a black plastic template tray included which allows you to line up your 1/4 sheet sandpaper and punch holes through it so that the dust goes into the collection bag attached to the tool. It's also nice to set your tool on without scratching your countertop, table, floor, etc. Overall, I love this sander and my only negative was the difficulty I had attaching the sandpaper.

                      STRONG SANDER!
This sander really suprised me with how strong it is. Once I powered it on it took little to no effort to sand a rough board that I had laying around. I enjoy that there is nothing fancy about this sander. Everything is straight forward and simple. Ryobi even threw in a few sample sheets of sanding paper. That was a nice little bonus. The sander fits perfect in my hands and the grip was just right. I used my 2.0 battery and the sander weighed a very reasonable and manageable weight. It was easy to maneuver in the direction I needed it to go. Overall, I would give the sander 10 stars if I could and it is an easy RECOMMENDATION!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Ryobi purchase. I recently bought the battery powered hedge clipper. It was so easy to take the battery off my clipper and attach it to this sander. I also absolutely love that the sandpaper is not attached with adhesive. The use of Velcro is ingenious! I really like the corner point of the sander and the fact that the top portion of the sandpaper can be rotated if the tip becomes too used. What an awesome product!
