Good quality, but...
I just bought this item and opened it up. The item quality seems very good, but the manufacturer incorrectly installed the red needle: it is on the low side of the black needle and between it and the lower stop pin. This makes it the "lowest reading", not the highest reading. Other than that, the gauge seems to be of good quality. However, I cannot recommend it.

    Peak Reading is Valuable
This easily screwed onto our standard garden hose fitting with my fingers. I left it attached for a full 24 hours. I really like the peak reading feature provided by the red needle. It allowed me to see the current pressure was staying around 48PSI while also showing that there was at least one peak reading around 62PSI. Please see attached image.

      simple fix
I bought this after reading several reviews that said the red high-pressure hand was too loose. When I installed the gauge I wrapped the shaft for the red hand under the knob with a couple of loops of sewing thread and tied a knot. This was adequate to dampen the movement of the red hand but still allow it to be moved by the black hand. I also found that adding more than a couple of loops of thread created too much drag for the black hand to move, which resulted in a low pressure reading.

        simple water pressure gauge
I used this to measure my pressure from an outdoor spigot, and then removed the outside connection and added it to my hot water heater line next to my expansion tank so I can always monitor the pressure by the heater. Some people complain the max dial is too loose - it's designed that way and works perfectly. I carefully set it right next to the black dial, and then let it be. After a week my max pressure was about 82psi. Easy to read dial, numbers are large and legible. Only complaint is the spigot attachment was extremely difficult to remove. It had some sort of glue, not sealant. But it works and measures accurately.

The gauge works good for checking your pressures. I used it to sett the pressure on my sprinkler system and to monitor pressures from my well. I did leave it on my faucet during a rain storm and it got water on the inside of the meter lens, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Installed easily. No leaks. No pressure indicated. Needle on opposite side of post from zero psi. Wanting to check pressure and the low cost of gauge... attempting to fix was easy. Clear lid came off with little effort. Managed to push needle in opposite direction, slipping and catching, until resting at zero psi and... it worked. Confirming neighbors psi of 92. Not sure how the needle got on wrong side of stop and under tension. Gauge has worked since indicating slight pressure changes. No sign of package tampering. Just got the bad one I guess.

I work for Gulf Coast Realty LLC in Fort Myers, Florida. I had a customer buying a high end condo and they were worried about the water pressure. I put it on the washer hook up tap and it showed 53lbs slightly above the recommended amount. It gave everyone piece of mind and allowed my transaction to go through with confidence.

I only needed one gauge, but I bought two. This Watts 'IWTG' in the Plumbing department and I bought a Rain Bird brand from the Irrigation department a couple of aisles over. I wanted to test the calibration between the two as I repaired our home's pressure reduction valve to reduce the inside pressure to about 50-55 psi. I hung the two gauges on both front and rear hose bib faucets and never did the two gauges read more than a 2-3 psi difference. I'm satisfied with this Watts gauge, and I recommend it as a good value. And I really only needed one of these, as it turned out.

I purchased this water pressure test gauge after having a faulty water pressure reducing value replaced. As the reducing value was going out, our water pressure would jump to extremes. That along with defective PEX pipe resulted in three leaks in our home. The plumber that replaced the pressure reducing value had a test gauge similar to this one. His however was heavy and of much better quality than this one. He recommended I buy one and test my pressure monthly. I looked for one similar to his but this was the best could find. It only takes a few minutes to hook it up to the front yard water line to check the pressure. This gauge is plastic and feels kind of flimsy but I've used it four months and it's hold up nicely.

            It works
The pressure gauge has a thread to connect to test points (like on backflow prevention devices), and it has an adapter attached to connect it to a hose bib. It took a lot of force to unscrew the adapter. I stripped the adapter. It seems like it was glued in. I used PTFE tape to re-attach it. I took it apart. I think how it works is the water fills the flat copper tube, causing it to inflate, which pulls on the gear thing which rotates the needle.

Perfect solution to diagnose a problem
I had leaks developing in my polypropylene supply lines plus toilet, icemaker , and hot water heater drain valves that were leaking a little. I needed to test my in-house water pressure. I just needed a gauge to tell me the approximate range of my pressure. This gauge showed that I had 120lb pressure throughout the house rather than desirable 40 - 60 lb range! My pressure regulator had failed. Just knowing that and correcting the problem has possibly saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars of repairs and water damage to my house and belongings! I have been in construction for 50 years and never experienced a bad or failed regulator. I enjoy high quality tools and equipment but sometimes an inexpensive product is all you need to get the data that you need to "save the day". It doesn't matter to me if the gauge is off a few pounds here or there, it's the range that mattered. I got a couple adapters that enabled me to attach the gauge conveniently to my shower head fitting vs a hose faucet that may not have been regulated down. I'm going to make a point to test on a regular basis. Undoubtedly the best $10 I ever spent! Get one and test your house. You can't believe how much and how fast water comes out of a broken pipe at 120 pounds pressure! I was extremely lucky, I was standing right there both times my pipes ruptured due to high pressure.

                Junk
This gauge loses accuracy after a couple of months. I know because I've bought at least 10 over the last 10 years. I keep buying them because I use a pressure gauge daily and it's the only choice at Home Depot. Also, there is no warranty on this product!

                  Not accurate
Red max pressure needle should have some resistance to movement, any vibration and the needle moves on its own. A light tap on the gauge moves the red needle, even in the package on the shelf. Totally inaccurate readings on several overnight tests up to 140 psi way above what my utility says the system is at.

This is not a good product I bought; I brought it back because it was inaccurate, and the lens fogged up from moisture.

                    Inaccurate peak pressure
The red indicator used to indicate peak pressure is too loose. Any minor vibration will cause the red indicator to move. Depending on the orientation of the plumbing fixture to which it’s attached, the red indicator will move to point downward. Just lightly tapping the face of meter with a fingernail will cause the red indicator to bounce around.

First time use - The adjustable Max reading indicator was found to be too loose and will move upon any vibration or accidental touch of the gauge affecting a possible false reading.
