This is my first time owning and using a starter chimney I like it because I do not have to touch the charcoal or use lighter fluid with the starter chimney all you need is a piece of newspaper and a lighter it helps keep my hands clean and all my charcoal is lit so I have plenty of Heat going

The volume of coals this lights is more than I need in most cases - and that's including smoking two racks of ribs in the 22" kettle - but this is still a must have. I recommend, however, getting both. Get this one, and get Weber's smaller one as well. The small one may be the one you'll use the most.

I have purchased several Weber chimney charcoal starters over the years and I am never disappointed. They last for several seasons; I do have mine covered in between uses, so it takes forever for them to get so degraded that you cannot use them! I get holes in the sides - the bottom has never detached. I highly recommend the chimney starters over using lighter fluid.

When I bought my Original Weber 22" Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill 3 years ago, I bought a smaller off brand chimney starter. I wanted a chimney starter that had more capacity for charcoal. If you fill this starter full, it is the right amount of charcoal for a full grill of food. I just pour in the charcoal, light up a lighter cube and in approximately 20-25 minutes you are ready to cook. Built well, great price, you can't go wrong with this charcoal chimney starter.

New to charcoal grilling, have been a gas Weber user for many years. Super simple to use and you're grilling in 20 minutes.

I recently got a Weber coal grill even though I loved my bigger gas grill. I went ahead and got this chimney and am so glad that I did. I will never be without one again. However I was impatient & wanted to use this right away but didn't read the instructions thoroughly because it said to place on the coal rack. Dummy me, I set it on the cooking rack (see my photo). But I kept a close eye on it and my hose ready, but it never tipped over and did the job it was intended for. So, lesson learned. Now I remove the cooking rack and set it on the coal rack while lighting the coals. I feel safer knowing it is sitting lower in the grill and not apt to tip over. It does discolor after use, but it doesn't diminish from its performance. I also chose to use hardwood coal (Royal Oak brand) and got a package of the Weber fire starter cubes because I didn't want my food to taste like chemicals from the traditional formed coal briquettes and lighter fluid. I set the cube under the chimney and lit it with one of those large handle lighters and it lights on first try. The coals burn quickly and evenly. I do however recommend wearing protective gloves when handling the chimney. Don't hesitate, get one. You'll be cooking in no time and your food will taste amazing !

Fill it up and light it. Come back in 15 minutes and you're cooking. Good value at $15. Holds plenty of coals. Handle didn't get hot to the touch for me. Metal discolored after first use but seems fine now.

This make starting the fire simple and foolproof. Used with a single Weber fire cube, you'll have your coals ready to use in about 20 minutes. You'll never use lighter fluid again and wish you had bought one sooner!

I used this with a lighting assist instead of paper and it worked great. Be careful not to use with matchlight though unless you want to have a real chimney!

the design of this thing is great, it can hold a lot of charcoal. So remember to watch how much you put in it. The holes of the side make it easier for air to flow and also easier to see the level of red hot coal. The space under it to put the paper is big enough ( its got an upward cone shape to light more charcoal at the same time). The extra handle really helps guide coal placement with out dumping it out into one spot. The look of it is nice, but that is gone after the first use. So far no rust on this Weber. Hope it lasts a few more seasons. I will use it with a weber smokey Joe, and bring it with me to local parks to use on their grills, works great so far

To me, the best way to start a batch of charcoal. Well constructed. Heat shield to protect your hand when dumping the hot coals out. Pivoting bail grip to better control the dumping. Easily cuts the charcoal starting time in half!

The handle is the best part. It helps control and keeps you safe.

This works so well to get the briquettes quickly ready for cooking the food.
