What Customers Say
Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews

Customers say the West Bend bread maker is a reliable and easy-to-use appliance that produces consistently good bread with its dual paddle design and larger capacity. Many users appreciate the convenience of the delayed start option and the quality of the bread, while some have noted challenges with the bread pan locking mechanism and the difficulty in removing baked loaves. Overall, the product is well-regarded for its performance, though there are occasional concerns about paddle durability and the need for more recipe options.

Got mine 3 weeks ago with no owners manual. I contacted you and have heard nothing yet. Can't review what I can't work. Joette Leonard

Failed in less than two years.
My previous WestBend bread machine worked for over 20 years, so when it needed to be replaced I bought another WestBend. I’ve had it only 2 years, and it hasn’t been overused, so imagine my surprise and disappointment when I plugged it in today and the display screen remained blank. I tried several plug receptacles but still a blank screen. Very disappointing.

    Love my bread maker!
I love this bread maker. It is so easy to use. I love that it has two paddles for better mixing and kneading of the dough. I have made the 3 lb basic white bread and the 2 lb basic white bread and both came out perfect. The 3 pound was very soft but also very heavy and filling. The 2lb came out lighter. It is so much easier to use than my first bread machine. I highly recommend you get one and start making bread that you know what is in it. I am going to make sourdough bread next. Happy baking!

It runs a little hot! The recipe calls for a lot of flour when the dough has to much and the bread is hard and dry!

      Not impressed with this machine.
I bought this machine and was not impressed. The loaf I cooked in the machine was very heavy and fell apart. I also tried the dough setting. It was worse. The machine did not warm so the dough did not rise at all. I even tried warming the liquid before adding it to the machine. I would not recommend this product.

        Not good
I haven’t made a good loaf yet. Followed instructions, new flor and yeast and turns out heavy like a brick

          breaks easy
I have gone through 2 West Bend bread makers. Both broke after light occasional use. The bread was just fine. West Bend is an unreliable brand.

            Not impressed
This bread machine isn't any better than my old bread machine with one blade. The blades last only 5-6 months and has to be replaced because the coating gets peeled. Now I have to replace 2 blades, no just one. Never again will buy bread machine with 2 blades. Really doesn't make any difference.

              Outstanding Bread Maker
I had a previous version that had worked well, at least before I broke it. The current one that I purchased a month ago seems to be a improvement over the earlier version. It operates much the same but is mucher easier to clean.

              Mine was defective.
This is my second Westbend bread maker and thank goodness I still have my old one. I purchased this one about a month ago and the coating on the paddles is peeling off. When I rub the paddle, black particles come off on my fingers. I can't use it so I'm returning it. Also, every time I make a loaf of bread in this one it just doesn't turn out right. I'll go back to my old machine that makes a perfect loaf every time.

Heating element not working (brand new)
I bought this unit about two weeks ago and used it for the first time today. Heating element would not work. All that time and ingredients wasted. Defective straight out of the box!

                    FAILED 2 lb. LOAF x 3
I am at a loss. I am on my 3 rd trial of the 2 lb. Loaf of white bread and again it is all clumpy and baking currently. I have all new ,frresh ingredients, carefully measured and still not turning out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

                      Ok but not great
I bought this to replace my B&D breadmaker. The profile looks very similar and it is one of the few available with two paddles. I am rather disappointed because the dough (only use the dough function) mixes and goes into two separate balls, therefore it is not kneading properly. Never had this issue with my previous bread machine. I gave this 3 stars and I am seriously considering selling it and looking for something else.

                        Westbend Bread Machine
Bought because in the past Westbend was ab excellent bread maker. However , I find the crust is too thick and too well done no matter what setting is used. It also makes a loaf size too big for the toaster. It also seems that every recipe requires more liquid that is stated in the book. All in all it is a purchase I wish I had not made.

                        As described.
Working good so far. Because of two mixing knifes a bread is not symmetrical but it's ok.

                        Consistently Delicious Results
Easy to use, excellent results with little effort, convenient delayed start option. Only con is the baked loaf can be difficult to remove from the bread pan.

                          Great bread machine
Wasn’t sure I would like my new bread machine. I made cinnamon rolls using the dough feature and I really liked how the rolls turned out!!!

                          West bend electric bread maker
Seems to do what it reports…. I like the dual paddles and horizontal loaf. Don’t use anything metal near the non stick surface as it scratches easily! I wouldn’t even recommend using the paddle removal hook tool as it will scratch the paddles.

                          No replacement for kneading paddle
I love the machine but the kneading paddles completely stick in the loaf. I accidentally threw out a loaf with paddle still inside & there is no replacement on the website or anywhere else I can find.

                            West Bend breadmaker
The front door West end breadmaker I had for so many years was much better than top door as there was no need to slide machine closer to counter edge to open top to avoid scratching due to top cupboards. Also bread pan is difficult to lock into place even if company suggests pushing opposite corners! The bread pan handle ends already scratched the inside. Very disappointed as just purchased it!!
