Bought this refrigerator less than a year ago and it was a scratch and dent return. The water line had been replaced so we took a chance and bought it. Within a month, the lights in the fridge began to dim and then the top lights went completely out. When we called service, they asked if the freezer light was working. Well we actually never even knew it HAD a freezer light because it never worked from the moment we bought it. Service came out and attempted to replace the wire, but broke the whole wire in the process. Since it was still in warranty, they replaced the entire refrigerator. Well guess what? 6 months later and I thought the refrigerator light was getting dimmer, but I was hoping it was just my imagination. A week later, the freezer light went completely out. Then I knew we were having the exact same problem. Sure enough, the top lights are now dim to the point of being completely useless as well. Called whirlpool and they are sending another service tech out but they claim they have never heard of this problem before. Seriously? We’ve had it happen to two of your fridges within a six-month timeframe and we are the only ones that have had this problem? I find that hard to believe. We will see what remedy Whirlpool offers this time.

I’ve only had it for about a month but it’s working fantastic. The ice maker in the freezer section is extremely convenient. This was the only fridge I found the had the least amount of negative reviews about the ice maker as well so glad I decided to purchase this above the others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 27 years from the Top freezer (which is still kicking in the garage) to the side-by-side (that has numerous repairs and replacement parts) to this Beauty of a Beast we LOVE all the Space! Opening both doors makes it easy to access everything and clean. And the spacing of the shelves and door bins has worked out great. Three complaints: ~ The water filling the ice compartments is unusually loud. We’ve gone through all the troubleshoots and checked the lines. It’s not bad just louder than we’re used to. Slowly adapting. ~ It is NOT smudge proof. So glad we had an all black different exterior texture when we had a house full of kids. This wiping finger prints would have made me crazy. ~ It does scratch so be careful. Sad we can’t display our grandbaby’s works of art. But on the flip side we’ve never not had something displayed on the fridge and it certainly gives the kitchen a less cluttered look. We’ll find a new spot for such gifts. Overall we love our big beauty!

The French Door Refrigerator by Whirlpool is exactly what we needed. Plenty of room top and bottom, all easily accessible. Both upper and lower sections are brightly lit with LED lamps. The large upper refrigerator section has ample room and large door bins. We especially like the large shelf drawers which provide very easy access. The lower freezer section has a full width, deep door bin, pull out full width upper drawer which includes a large ice bin/ice maker and full width lower section. In addition to the ice bin/maker in the freezer section, there is also a separate ice and water dispenser in the door which provides both cooled water and cubed or crushed ice. Also, there is a convenient information panel above the ice and water dispenser where the refrigerator and freezer temperatures can be adjusted as needed. The unit is exceptionally quite.

I had a few concerns based on similar brands that had similar features but this whirlpool fridge has absolutely no complaints by me. I highly recommend it and know others will find the storage to be more than you bargained for. PS the freezer ice carrier does NOT overload and throw ice behind the draw as other brands do. Such a plus!

The shelves inside move making it easy to access items near the back. The in door ice maker is perfect. And there is even a second ice maker in the freezer!!! My favorite part though is the fingerprint resistant stainless steel! It really works! No more cleaning my fridge a billion times a day from the kids. It truly is fingerprint resistant!!!

We chose Whirlpool because they have been in the appliance industry along time. This model here has so much storage! And we love the soda compartment! Door shelves are big, deep & wide. Love the duel ice maker & the fact that if you don’t need so much ice you can turn the one off in the freezer compartment and use it as extra freezer storage for food. I find the freezer to be very roomy and the pizza compartment is nice! Have it divided in 4 compartments seems to work for me. I can store my meats accordingly. And the middle slot is nice for frozen vegetables or juice. And this stainless steel is really fingerprint proof!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very, very happy with our new Whirlpool fridge so far. This is the first time we've had one with the french doors. I love the pull out party platter tray and the small beverage drawer as well. We have plenty of space for our groceries now. The best feature though I think is the 2 ice makers. We go thru alot of ice so having the 2 is helpful. The other wonderful feature is that I can put my RTIC mugs (30 and 40 oz) under the water/ice dispenser without having to tilt it at all. They fit in there perfectly!!!! And there's room in the freezer to put cookie sheets/pans when I make chocolates. I can lay them flat and close the drawer with no problem. The only downside so far is the occasional high pitched sound from the compressor. I was told it's due to the energy efficiency that it makes that noise. It's not horrible nor very loud it's just a new noise to us compared to our old fridge.

Fridge area has so much room for food storage we have switched out the dishwasher and fridge with whirlpool, now to change out the range and microhood next!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this refrigerator! I bought it to replace an older whirlpool french door model and the upgrade is awesome. The ice maker being in the door frees up so much more shelf space and having the dual ice maker with a second one in the bottom has been great with family and friends over for Christmas. The drawer space is more than adequate for fruits and veggies and is an improvement over my previous model which had less sturdy drawer support - we had to keep ordering and replacing the supports every few months on that model. But I can tell this one is not likely to have this issue - it feels very secure and sturdy! We bought the matte black which looks very sleek.

I love the ice feature where you can choose to use the door dispenser or retrieve them from the freezer section if you need more. It is a beautiful refrigerator with space for everything that we need. It makes it easy to find things.It is also very quite - I don't even know it's running - except everything is the correct temperature.

We've owned this refrigerator for apx. 3 weeks and wanted to match the whirlpool appliances installed in our new home. I spent countless hours studying all the available models, and even other brands, that would possibly fit our requirements in a refrigerator without compromises nor issues. I had all but given up after reading the countless reviews which seemed that apx. 60 to 80%+/- of all brand refrigerator ownership was happy and the rest were pounding sand according to written reviews and was ready to buy a cheap top freezer like old days. That said, after months of looking this one finally came up and I waited until the 4th of July sale to purchase. The reviews were at 96% happy with it and the negatives seemed more about delivery or minor issues. The delivery for us was on time and professional. I had already ordered the braided hose ( around 25.00 from whirlpool so no questions asked) for them to use instead of the small PEX line that I paid 9.99 for already and will take back. Set up went fine, Ran the water through as prescribed until free and clear, same with ice. I put a thermometer in the freezer and refrigerator to check and within just a few hours had roughly 33 deg, in the refrigerator and below zero in the freezer. Now with food stocked in both I get the same readings, even in the door in the refrigerated section stays withing 33 to 35 with us using it as I check it often to make sure it was up to par and our food was safely kept. Ice was also making withing the same day and now stays full, both in the door and in the second unit in the freezer. We really appreciate the ice scoop the has its own fastened storage place in the lower ice bin that makes getting ice a pleasure, really! I like being able to open the lower freezer to get ice as needed when not using for water glass. Now the the water and ice dispenser. Both work great overall, we have very good water pressure and being in a new home may be part of that. Yes, the water spout is out farther than most, due to being a single shoot pulling double duty, and it takes finesse to fill a water bottle without spilling. It will leave a drop or several if you take your glass/cup away to quickly, yet only have to pause a moment then it's fine. Ice puts out well and this unit actually makes great crushed ice which is as much a bonus as having the 2nd ice maker. Shelving and storage. We keep filling this unit up and it just keeps taking it and maintains the temps mentioned above, even with use. I use the smaller center storage area for butter and such items. The slide out deli tray is a neat feature and make accessing items stored there easier. The freezer layout is spot on, especially considering the price point. Having a place to store 2 store bought frozen pizzas and separated bins with appropriate ventilation integrated into them without allowing items to spill over or behind is well thought out. Very easy to utilize. The second ice maker and bin still allow all we need to put in a freezer. We did elect to spend the 35-40$ extra to have the missing small door bin for the right side refrigerator lower door area. This comes standard on the replica upgraded Kitchen Aid, along with a higher price mind you. Sounds/noise. Yes, I read about those too and this one still won us over in hopes that it would at least be tolerable if it could offer up to all the stated features and abilities. It does make a very slight phone style turbo whirring type 'sound', not noise, momentarily after shutting the doors each time, yet it's really not noticeable unless your trying to listen for it. Yes, you can hear the ice making when it goes through its cycle of dumping and refilling, yet it's an ice maker! It's not an issue and only lasts for around a minute or less and no different than any other refrigerator we've owned. Good new, it works and wonderfully thus far. Our kids use it constantly here during last few weeks of summer without issues. Appearance, this unit looks so awesome, really. Pictures don't do it justice. The interior is well lit and the LED's arent in your face like some models. The dispenser light setting has a high and low that we use at night and it's sort've a cool blue which gives it an updated look as opposed to the old incandescent lights of years gone by that created a lot of heat and didn't last long if used regularly. The touch panel also lights up at a touch so you can see what setting your on. Water, Ice, Crushed Ice along with the other settings incorporated. It wipes up easy and we use only a soft cloth as wouldn't want to scratch it, yet it seems very durable and looks like new with no effort. Holds up to being fingerprint resistant! Yes, I'd like to see a temp reading as other units have, no I don't want a higher price tag or something else that could go wrong one day so I use thermometers to ensure all is well. We hope it will give us many years of service and did purchase the Home Depot extended warranty plan. If we have no service calls throughout the duration, we get a percentage of the purchase price back, plus during the warranty period we can get basic maintenance items around 50% off which pays for itself either way just by keeping the filters changed on schedule. We love it so far and hope you do too. It fit everything we could ask for including huge storage and at a reasonable price.
