Frequently Asked Questions

If I replace my windows, will my heating and cooling costs go down?

Replacing your windows will lower heating and cooling costs. We can help you maximize energy savings with modern, high-quality window options, including low-E4, dual-pane glass, and triple-pane glass with gas insulation.

What is the difference between aluminum, vinyl, and wood window materials?

Aluminum window frames combine contemporary style with the ability to handle extreme temperatures. Vinyl window frames typically contain PVC, and combine ultraviolet protection against the sun, water resistance, and easy maintenance. Wooden window frames will not stick due to expansion and contraction. However, wood is harder to maintain, with susceptibility to both rot and weathering.

What happens during my free in-home consultation for window replacement?

During a free window replacement in-home consultation, a window installation specialist from The Home Depot will gather professional measurements, show you window samples, and give you a project quote. We'll also calculate your potential energy savings and the increased home value you can expect from your new windows. The specialist will also help you envision different window options in your home with our innovative 3D digital design tool.

How can I prepare for an in-home consultation with The Home Depot?

Before we arrive at your home, please secure your pets while making the area around your windows clean and accessible so we can take accurate measurements.
