Poor customer service at checkout due to card reader error or whatever the excuse was. Stood in line for a while with $81.95 worth of merchandise only to be informed when I got to the cashier that the card reader was down. How about you train your cashiers to inform customers when there is an error or problems taking cards ahead of time that something is wrong instead of making them turn around and try to get into a different line. Turn the light on the cashier station off if you know you are having problems so customers don’t line up waiting to hear about problems. Pathetic customer service today at station 6. I also work in a customer service driven industry and I know this example of customer service or the lack thereof will make me think twice about where I spend my money on home improvement or miscellaneous hardware.

Spent over an hour ordering kitchen appliances - July 4th sale - evidently, I was given incorrect receipts for the price I paid & the incorrect refrigerator was ordered. I tried to get the mistake rectified and was told the employee that helped me was no longer working at this store. I was told I didn’t order the refrigerator I wanted, my receipts were incorrect & “ it wasn’t fair to the employee that helped me because she wasn’t there to defend herself”!!! The special was 4 appliances for $2100 - I paid an xtra $1000 to get the stove I wanted & the color I wanted. Now, to have the correct refrigerator ordered & delivered is $1778 - it was $2300 but they were so helpful, they gave me a $500 discount! So, now I have paid $3100 for 4 appliances plus $1778 for my correct original appliance to be delivered and they will give me a credit on the orig incorrect frig when they pick it up after the correct one is delivered. Will NEVER go into a Home Depot again. There R too many other stores that take care of their customers and don’t call them liars when they’ve ordered an item & charge double for a replacement that was already ordered to begin with. And the receipts are correct & applicable to the purchase! So upset and humiliated - at least 6 employees stood around and listened to my conversation with the “supervisor” who told me I didn’t order the frig I wanted, I didn’t pay what was listed on my receipt, and the store would not honor the order/agreement I entered into.

The store's employees are great but the company won't spend the money develop and thoroughly test the technology employees need to work at the necessary pace. Telephone, web, and order fulfillment software is clunky and full of bugs. Employees have difficulty locating merchandise on the system. Even the customer service survey is incapable of distinguishing online orders, telephone pickup orders, and web orders and, instead of attention to detail, it delivers questions based on the assumption that you stood in line at the store. Home Depot lacks attention to the kind of detail that it takes to be excellent.

I just shopped at the Depot and had the worst experience ever. I have to stay safe from Covid BECAUSE I AM A CAREGIVER TO A DISABLED WOMEN AND HER 90 YEAR OLD MOM. I got nothing but attitude when practicing social distancing. My Cashier was understanding and helpful, but her supervisor SAID I WAS RUDE WHEN I POLITELY REQUESTED SHE STEP BACK SO I COULD WALK AROUND HER... There was a guy vacuuming the entrance and just didn't step back as I waited and waited for him to get out of the way... A customer-ok not your fault- was just standing there. I asked her to step back and she laughed at me.... If my bosses get sick the would be dead within hours!!!!!!! No I'm not being rude or overly careful... AGAIN THEY WOULD BE DEAD WITHIN HOURS. Help the nurses and caregivers!!!!!!

This store I visited the same evening, but this is NOT the store I evaluated on the survey. I shopped at both this store and the one in Meridian, Idaho (83646). This store did not have the tile I wanted out on the shelf. I usually do shop at the Eagle store. This store was clean and the associates are usually very friendly. The only thing I could say that is not great is that generally the stores are understaffed and I need to wait for help. This has been my experience in every Home Depot I have gone to in Idaho and California where I lived previously.
