When you're beginning to dive into a big home improvement project, you might not have every tool you need in a shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Beltway 8 Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt with the precise tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's not necessary to keep a specialized tool when you're not using it often. When you're searching for a new tool, give it a spin first before you decide which to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Rent Floor Sanders, Shop Vacs, Post Hole Diggers, and More
Tackle serious jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your home faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your project.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Beautiful springtime days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, scaffolding rentals for painting houses or sheds, or rental ladders for painting fences, we have what you need.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To meet your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to rent. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to cargo vans to flatbeds. We'll have the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY jobs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks or tools you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a short rental period, and major projects are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered to your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
