PRO's: The employees are friendly for the most part, and when one can be located, are generally helpful. Store is Open convenient hours. A few of the prices are (still) reasonable. CON'S: Consistently Under-staffed and 'Never' can get a real person on the telephone!! But, Home Depot in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii is the only true Home Improvement Store on Kauai (a small Hawaiian Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean), so it's a "monopoly". The prices have increased significantly & shockingly in the last 6 months. The Selection of available, "on-island", high-dollar products (appliances, doors, windows, big lumber products) is very, very limited, and the "special order" required for them to get the "not-on-island" products here is about twice to three times as long as necessary (at least 6 to 8 weeks!!), then delivery schedule adds another month once they get here!! (It only takes 8 to 10 days to get a ship from Oakland, CA or San Pedro, CA [Long Beach area] to Lihue, so we are NOT a priority, just to state the obvious.)

HD Corporate needs to reevaluate, fire the computerization staff, eliminate all programs and get back to basics by simply providing everyone a Cashier, a smile and a paper bag as incentive.

Half the order delivered was wrong. A third of the concrete blocks were chipped beyond use!

The new Store Manager is amazing. She not only restored Aloha during a transitional period, her presence is always known by customers because she’s actively engaged with the teams and customers. I had a major issue with my Samsung frig for my tenant. Not only did she give me steps to follow, her and Randle and Gordon engaged with me till The end. I couldn’t believe that when I resolved and went to purchase a new refrigerator after 4 months of back and forth with Samsung, that Wendy would go above and beyond as my advocate to management. I walked away not only with a courtesy discount I walked away feeling Stellar because HD cared about ME- a customer. Thanks for being amazing. Thank you Wendy for allowing your 22 years of service to be a new renewal Each day.

I had bought a battery operated chainsaw earlier. Came back for batteries and charger, as they weren’t included in package. Clerk was more than willing to help me out. Very helpful employees. Big “Thank you” to Norine and Ari.

Georgialynn in the appliance department was on her own except for a trainee and she was friendly and efficient with the 4 customers in front of me as well as myself. She didn't let the line of waiting people disturb her and continued to provide great customer service to all!

Needed a wagon due to a unplanned purchase. Employee working in gardens had 2 empty wagons in the vicinity. I said may i take this wagon. Employee said no these are mine you will need to get your own. Wow!! Not the helpful response i was expecting. Not exactly Friendly helpful customer care.

Employees are well trained for this specific store on the tiny island of Kauai with so much Aloha spirit and very knowledgeable in each department

I had the pleasure of interacting with the cashier manager, Marissa. She was kind, helpful, and funny. She helped me get cabinets and also helped me get them into my truck. She was very good at her job and I appreciate her excellent customer service.

The only thing good about this store is the front cashiers. Friendly and professional but real pushy about filling out the surveys on the receipts. Customer service center needs to be retrained should be called no customer service center. Trying to find help in the store is impossible. Either no one around or it’s not their department. Luckily it’s the only Home Depot on the Island so they can have bad customer service.

Employees go beyond to help with every aspect of the shopping trip!

I bought this six months ago. There was always condensation outside the refrigerator. The technician came out and said it was due to the moisture in Hawaii. In the fourth month the refrigerator section started to freeze everything. I got fully refunded after a long struggle.
