Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements knock it out. When considering different generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Should I make siding repairs now?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if damaged.
Why should I get a doorbell camera?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or an adjacent window when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
