A great store and a great shopping experience
I had bought a storage bin on a previous visit. I liked it so much I went in today and bought two more. The cashier , Michelle, told me how to apply for my military discount. and gave me a courtesy 10% discount on my purchase along with the instructions. This evemplifies the type of folks who work there. The storage bins are the best i have ever found.

Buyers beware. Batteries are dead on the shelf
5/21/24 I went to the Home Depot at 1919 Wells Road in Orange Park, Fla, to purchase a lawn tractor battery. I brought my core in with me and wanted to alert someone that I needed a battery, had my core, and wanted to know what to do with it. An obese man in a Home Depot apron was at the front door, and I asked him. He abruptly said, “ I don’t work in that department.” I said, who can help me? He said, “I work in electrical I don’t know what you do with them. (in a tone that let me know, I was bothering him) I said your Home Depot apron threw me off, I thought you worked here.” He replied, “I can’t help you.” I left him and went to the lawn tractor area, refusing to engage with this employee further. I encountered two men in the aisle who had on name tags but said they couldn’t help me either, they were vendors. I asked if someone was working that could, and they said maybe. No employee could be found, and the vendors couldn't have cared less if I got any help. I found the identical battery I had purchased a few years before on the shelf. I took it towards the register and tried to ring out customer service as I still had my core. Eventually “AMY” was able to understand what I was doing and rang me up. I told her of my unhappy experiences, and that I wanted to relay them to a manager, but no manager was summoned. I left. I got home and installed the new battery. The battery I just purchased was completely dead. I uninstalled the battery and drove back up to the store (15-30 min). Amy was at the counter. I waited in line again, and she said, “That’s not the same battery.” I assured her it was, produced the receipt, and she said, you’ll need to take this to rental to get them to check it out. I said, “I’m not taking it anywhere. I want a battery that has a charge on it. She then refunded the battery and said I was welcome to go get a new battery from the same self that just had the bad battery. I asked how I was to know if it was good or not, but she had no answer. I went to the rental and told the guy in there the problem, and he checked the “new battery” I had bought/refunded, and it was completely dead (like I said). He suggested I go get a new battery off the shelf. I again went through the story of how I would know if it was good or not and asked him to bring the tester and assure me the battery I bought was a “good” new battery. He tested several batteries, some with no charge, and selected one, saying this one is good, but I’d put it on a trickle charger when you get home. Unsatisfied with this answer, he offered to put it on his fast charger to assure me it was good. He did. I bought my second “new battery” from Home Depot in less than an hour and two trips, installing and uninstalling twice. I received no assistance from a rude fat guy who worked in electrical, and 4 vendors offered no assistance or offered to find someone who could/would assist me. The cashier was of no help and then accused me of bringing in another battery for a refund without investigating. The rental shop guy was of some assistance but left dead batteries on the shelf for some other poor patron to purchase. The second “new battery” I bought required a charge before it would meet the specifications. I demanded to speak to a manager. Stacy, an assistant manager, listened to my tale of a horror visit to your Home Depot, and the conclusion said, I can’t control the vendors as they don’t work for us. Stacy didn’t say, I’m sorry the fat guy in the electrical department was rude and unprofessional; I’m sorry about your problems, multiple trips, horrible service, time, money, and aggravation; sorry the cashier thought you were ripping us off with another return; we shouldn’t leave defective batteries on the shelf for others to buy……… She said, ”I can’t control the vendors.” I have 5 receipts from the multiple trips, purchases, and returns, all dated today starting at 8:58 am and ending at 9:57 am I’m one very unhappy customer and plan on sharing my experience with everyone I encounter.

          Superb service
It was very tepid outside when I decided to make the pilgrimage to the Oasis that is the home depot. The staff were all so accommodating and thoughtful. They allowed me browse through the entire store, even though I wore nothing more than my trusty loincloth. One of the more empathetic associates even carried the train from the aforementioned cloth of my loins, which normally drags behind for dramatic effect. I will, most assuredly make a return visit and purchase many, many more items. Thank you, Mr. Home Depot!
