Using The Home Depot Richmond/W Broad Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complicated DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent quality tools to complete your project safely and confidently. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it could be at another one within driving distance.
A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. Plan to keep your workspace comfortable and cool so you can get more done. We have generators to run rental air conditioners, fans, and all your large power tools.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the driveway with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks or tools you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You can also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
