    This Home Depot in Surprise, Arizona is rated #1 in the four state area!
    This store usually has everything that I am looking for in stock with a wide variety of plants and flowers to choose from. I love that this store stays open until 10:00 pm. so I can shop when the store is less busy. Their customer service is great. My trees, flowers, landscape lighting, interior lighting, flower pots, replacement patio chair cushions, exterior paint for the flower pots and privacy wall along with the pool deck have come from Home Depot for the past 17 years when we had our house built in 2005.

      Lack of customer service
      I asked several employees for assistance in finding the product that I needed. I was pointed in different directions but never taken to the area that I needed. I eventually found what I needed. The best part of the visit was the checkout. The cashier was very courteous.

        Register employees are terrible
        More training needs to be done with the staff that runs the registers. I’ve often times times found myself either waiting or having to verbally bring attention to myself just to get them to start the check out process. If this is was once, maybe twice it’s one thing. But this has been every trip I’ve made to that story. I waited for about 80 seconds the other day while one employee flirted with another before I decided my my little experiment was up and finally SHOUTED “excuse me” TWICE before either of the two employees took notice helped me and the other two people waiting in line. Every. Single. Trip. Some serious training or oversight on that department needs to be re managed.

            Used to be better
            Needed some sandbags was told not a stocked item and none in stock so I walked the store found the sandbags and only purchased 80. They worked perfect and held sand really good.

              Beware of online ordering
              I put a $400 order online. They took my money and called back almost immediately saying that they were out of stock on the items that they already charged me for and then I had to meet I had H AD had to go to another store to pick up my product When I refuse to cancel my order and hung up on me

                Great customer service
                I don't write reviews much but I have to give kudos to the staff at Surprise Home Depot. I returned an item and had to purchase more. They must give bonus to staff that are the friendliest as they sure go out of their way . I remember the old days when you could't get anyone to help you. The check out system was curious at first but seems to work OK just no place to lay your stuff. Overall 5 STARS

                  Knowledgeable and helpful
                  Due to a water leak, I had to replace my toilet and vanity. The employees were knowledgeable and very helpful in locating what I needed and all accessories for this project. The paint department employee helped with what I needed and Customer Service employee was outstanding!

                              I went for paint and plants and found both. The paint custom order took less than 5 minute and the worker was super helpful with my questions. The garden area had a wonderful selection of garden plants and flowers that really had me eager for planting. Checkout was quick because there was no wait at the self checkout.

                                Poor delivery service.
                                Bought a dryer scheduled for delivery on a Friday. My wife took time off from work at the last minute was told it would not be available for another week so I canceled the order.

                                    Lack of assistance
                                    Seems like I have to track down an employeed for help then I feel like I'm interrupting their busy schedule, so it makes me feel uncomfortable. Then I asked for a lighting specialist .. but no one came to help. So I don't know if they can help me achieve what I want or not. When I do resolve it, the order will be x's 7. So pretty good size order.

                                      Returned to Home Depot to pick up a tool chest we’d seen earlier in the day. All gone! Sales Person Expert Courtney help us by locating one and setting up assembly and pickup for this weekend. Big Help! Thanks again Courtney. Your kind of service makes us happy campers.                                             This washing machine was delivered last week. The store representative, Mary Lou, did a great job of guiding us through the process of selection and purchasing. The machine appears to be exactly what we were told.

                                                        Re: carpet department problem
                                                        We bought living room carpeting and after the measuring person was here she said she didn’t think it could be glued but they would have to drill holes to install. We asked her to note we preferred it to be glued if at all possible. When installer arrived he explained why glue wouldn’t work on our type of tile. Then when he talked to his supervisor he found out they couldn’t drill into our type of tile. Long story shortened we went to the store manager who was very apologetic and agreed the person who measured was not trained properly if she didn’t know there was no way to install carpeting on our tile floor. As we had to pay for carpet and pad prior to them being ordered he agreed to pay for the option of having the carpet bound and a slip resistant backing added which makes it a room size rug and also refunding the price of the padding. Or they world give us a total refund. We opted for binding the cut to fit carpeting. We were satisfied with the options he offered. However, now we can’t get any time-frame other than up to 4 weeks. The installation company refuses to try to narrow it down and try to expedite it, citing they’re backed up due to the holidays. Someone should be able to call in a favor as we are way past the original install date and have furniture stacked all over the house awaiting its arrival. Too hard for us to move it twice again.

                                                          Every time I go to the Surprise store I am amazed at the swift service and helpful staff. If I ever have a question or need help it seems like there is no difficulty to get what I need. I have told staff they are great and I wish more stores could follow this example.

                                                            Unethical business practices
                                                            I picked out carpet (Gemini II in the color slate). Howard asked me to sign the electronic document. He said it only says that I authorize texts and email communication, but after you accept that it takes you to a 2nd page that opens up half way down. That part is asking you to sign a contract. Very misleading. I asked for him to print out what I would be signing so I could really read it BEFORE I sign it. He said he can't. EVEN WORSE. He said Home Depot just installed a new program for carpet install and he could not enter the carpet I selected so he entered something else so installer could come take the measurements and provide a quote. He said when I get the call for the quote to tell them to change it to Gemini II in the color slate. He said if that didn't work to come see him Friday and he would be able to fix what he was unable to enter correctly the first time. VERY QUESTIONABLE PRACTICES. Not sure I will proceed with Home Depot for this purchase and does not seem how a legit company conducts business. Next time Home Depot asks me to sign a contract I want to see the entire thing with the correct product, an accurate price BEFORE I am asked to sign in blind faith. NOT OK
