Keeping America Great and Beautiful!
Home Depot, Syosset is my one-stop shopping for anything home-goods related. Has been for some time now. During my last trip there, a sales associate named Andrew went above and beyond to help me. I could not be more pleased with the entire shopping experience! Until we meet again, Home Depot... (which will be very soon).

Excellent experience at the Syosset Home Depot
Excellent experience at the Syosset Home Depot! Earlier in the week I had a terrible experience at the Jericho tool rental. And will never return to that store. But I would absolutely come back here every day into my business. I’ve been spending my money at Home Depot for years and will continue to come to the store. The employees are awesome

Returns not processed as quickly as initial purchase
Bought a bunch of items, charges appear as pending almost immediately on my card. Returned one of those items, refund does not appear on card 2 days later. What a joke, Home Depot is playing a game with your credit card. Does not make me want to shop there again.

Associates are not properly trained
The cashier was completely clueless. Michele was in a hurry to leave as her shift had ended. She could not figure out how to work the register so she made it another cashier's problem. It was 6:10 PM (EST) and her shift ended at 6:00 PM EST so she told us to get back in line and the next cashier would help us. Which was pointless.
The next cashier was not any better. Did not know what she was doing but she did seem like she was new. A manager came to help us but the first interaction was bad.
All these could have been prevented with proper training. The cashiers had no clue how to process returns when they accessed two systems. They kept locking the order and we waited 30 minutes to get our returns processed ~ that is a ridiculously long time for a return

On Thursday September 17th 2020 at approximately 6 pm I went to Home Depot in Syosset, New York. I came to home depot looking for paint that I needed for a project. A female representative behind the paint desk was nothing but rude and not willing to help during my shopping experience. I would mention the name of the representative but her name was not clearly visible on her apron.
A little background of myself, I have a speech disability and speaking clearly can be difficult, especially when I am tired. Therefore when I asked a question, she refused to assist and said "Whatever we have over there." Furthermore, my ethnic background is Indian. I do also believe that this played a roll in how I was treated. The reason for this is because I firsthand observed this representative speak to other individuals and she was kind and courteous. However, when it came to me she was not. I did finally receive assistance from a representative named Ross. Ross assistance was excellent and I would recommend if you go to the paint section at this store, ask for his assistance.

After purchasing around $400 in materials I rented a truck for 19.00 that was meant to be used between 7:15pm and 9:00am the next morning. I screwed up and was sandwiched for time the next morning - so stopping to fuel the truck up caused me to be 10 minutes late. If I knew the late charge was going to be 600% the price of the rental, I wouldn't have fueled it up.
I ended up being charged a little over $140 for a $20 rental, for being 10 minutes late on a 14 hour rental. While I acknowledge this is largely my fault, I am still dissatisfied with Home Depot for the following reasons:
- When I rented the vehicle, there was nor warning of the late charge. Had I known being late 1 minute would septuple the rental price I would have made much more of an effort to be punctual.
- I spoke with the manager on duty at the location explaining why I was late (gassing up the vehicle). He was pretty standoffish which was surprising, given the unexpected nature of the late charge and said there was nothing to be done - which I have my own reservations about.
