Outstanding customer service
I'm in this store a lot. I often needs things that aren't stocked or have some kind of specialty to them. Gene and Tony always go above and beyond to help me out. ALWAYS! I just can't thank either of them enough. And as far as checking out goes, April rules. If she isn't at the register, then I'll do self check out. She is fast friendly and knowlegable and is a true asset to your store.

          I prefer the Newbury Park store rather than the Camarillo store as it feels like a better layout. I also feel like there are more employees available.

              Amazing customer service.
              I had a problem with an online order for an umbrella. The wrong color was shipped, but Leah was more than capable in helping me resolve the problem. Her customer service skills are absolutely amazing and it’s obvious she loves her job and working at Home Depot. Also, Abraham was going to load my order into the car until we discovered it was the wrong item. He was willing to help wherever he could and had a great attitude!

                  Well stocked nursery department
                  I enjoyed seeing some of the plants that were previously removed from the shelves when we were experiencing our drought. Now we can purchase flowers again. I loved seeing everything available. I do wish though, that you had more staff that wanted to help customers. Now it seems that they are very busy, and that is probably because staffing has become so expensive. I don't believe my experience was worth complaining about, but to be honest, I do wish that someone would have asked me if they could help me? I do wish that they would ask if you need help, especially seeing an older woman with 50lb bags of dirt. Or asked me if I wanted the paper to protect my car. All those things that they used to do. Anyways, they still have a beautiful full nursery with lots of varieties.

                    Terrible experience for me as a general contractor and my client
                    Something so small and petty like a return from a $10,000 purchase blew up in my face and it turned into a horrible experience for me as a general contractor and my client which no longer wanted to shop at the Home Depot. We returned some merchandise and he went and bought all the appliances for his complete remodel at another store. I had to call customer care four different times and I still have not gotten any proper results

                      Strong armed to spend more money at Home Depot
                      I purchased a Ryobi Chainsaw as a gift. The battery was defective would not charge. I returned the saw thinking it would be a quick exchange, instead after 45 minutes Home Depot said they would have to give me store credit instead of putting it back on my Home Depot Card. I was made to repurchase online in order to get the sale price i had paid. They then charged my Home Depot card for the new purchase. That was two weeks ago and i have yet to see the new saw they charged me for.

                        Lots of room for "improvement"
                        Ordered small item online for quick pickup at the lockers. They didn't use the lockers, made me wait in the horrendous customer service line. Why would you do that? It requires more employees, more cost to HD, more of a pain in the you know what for me. Everyone loses.

                            Came through in great time of need
                            Donna in the doors and windows department of the Thousand Oaks, CA store went out of her way to help me find the correct garage door moulding when it was more important than one would imagine. I needed to seal my garage door from possible flying embers before the winds picked up later that night during the January 2025 CA fire storm. I had purchased 4 garage door moulding earlier and installed 3 of them only to find the final brown 9 foot piece was thinner than the others. I returned to the Home Depot to buy another piece. Apparently there was an issue with the variation of the thickness of the 9 foot moldings the vendor provided. The bin only had thin brown 9 foot lengths while all the other lengths and colors were thick. I needed a thick one to match the pieces I already cut and installed. Miraculously Donna located an unopened box in another aisle (only she would know where they were) and found what I was looking for. I made it back in time to install the last piece to seal the door. She is a hero!

                              Online Orders
                              I have made many online purchases through the Home Depot website. The majority of the transactions were completed with no problems and I obtained all of the products purchased. My latest experience ordering a patio umbrella cover has not gone well. I received information that the cover was shipped to the store 10 days after ordering. It has now been It has now been 23 days since the purchase was made and the cover has yet to arrive. Calling the help line does not lead to a resolution. You're connected to a bot which repeats the shipping/processing information.

                                    So when was HD going to tell me that the product I already paid for I wasn’t going to get. Was HD just going to keep my money silently? That’s really ugly business practice. However the cashier person Kole was very nice. It was not her fault.

                                      Expensive Christmas Trees - Check the box!
                                      I purchased a $500 Christmas tree and the wrong tree was in the box! It even included someone’s old ornaments. Make sure you check what you purchase… we are very dissatisfied. Simi refunded no issues, but the tree’s no longer available.

                                        Self Checkout is NOT self checkout when HD Staff insists on checking items for you!
                                        Was in self checkout lane. HD staff insisted on scanning items for me, but forgot to scan one of them. When asked if she had scanned all the items, HD staff became snappy and replied "all scanned except for your money." I had papers of how to use items, which she took from my hands and then dismissed them as "junk." This is definitely NOT the kind of assistance I needed. This TO store used to be customer friendly. Now it's like any other Home Depot -- rude to customers. Would shop elsewhere except this is the only HD in town.

                                          I had scheduled a in-home Appointment for replacing patio doors on Monday Aug 19 at 12.00. Lead ID F45335621. Since no one turned up or called I decided to call the store at 12.30. I was told that they did not know why no one turned up and that they will inform the parties responsible. Today is Tuesday 11.00 am and still no response whatsoever! Extremely disappointed with the Service from Home Depot!

                                              Their checkout is horrible now. Who knows where the line is, they all say 'self checkout', and if you're lucky an employee will ring things up for you. The last two times I was over charged, the first time almost $200.00, then I had to spend 30 minutes with customer service to figure out what was wrong. Some things were scanned more than once and the person who did this saw me leaving again, then came over to hand a bag (he packed and put who knows where), but there was still $120.00 over charge. Ridiculous! I'd say you need to really pay attention to what they scan and how many times they scan each item.

                                                  Possibly the cart is wonderful. The problem is the store replaced one of the four tires with a faulty one. We can't use it yet.

                                                    Why you need a map of the floor plan at all of the doors.
                                                    Since you can not see all of the locations of material from one place, a map would be nice. Also, you seem to move stuff from one aisle to another. Sometimes the stuff is not where you expect. Eg. Hose repair ends not in the plumbing or gardening section. Post a map with what is in each aisle. For the people who travel with a phone, have Siri tell them where it is.

                                                      Emplyees seems to uniterested in customers
                                                      I found what I was looking for but the bag was broken. I went to an employee nearby but before I could start a question she blurted out that she is not a plumber after she glanced at what I was holding. I approached a lady walking by who was probably directing an equipment traffic and she told me that there are two gentlemen at the back end of the plumbing department who could help me out. I approached one of the gentlemen and began to ask my question only to be told that he will be with me at the place where I found the item. I waited for about two minutes but he never came to me and I saw him and another employee talking or assisting another customer but they never even looked at me. Finally I found someone who helped me out and in the end I bought the item with a broken bag hoping that it still contains all the items that are suppose to be in there. I went to Kris who was suppose to be the Store Manager and I relayed to her what happened but she was looking at me like I shouldn't complain. I finished what I was saying but she still did not say anything. I thought that the silence was meant to embarrass me because I complained. No wonder the other employees are insensitive because the supposed manager was herself was insensitive.

                                                          Gene in 36/37 (power tools) helped twice me with my Ryobi purchases and questions. Garden and Lumber: App said 66 of the items I needed the 4 in stock were the same brand wrong color wrong sku. Luckily, Andres' was very kind to quickly check stock and then get Josh and Omar (safety and associate training) to retrieve a new pallet of the correct items using their flags, gates, and a forklift. Marie my cheerful cashier rounded out the experience. These five associates helped me "Get more done."
