Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Do you have trunk-or-treat ideas or kits?
Even better than trunk-or-treat kits, we've got everything you need to make your own. Easily create your own trunk-or-treat experience with some imagination and a few Halloween decorations. Outdoor Halloween decorations can help set the stage around your vehicle, while indoor Halloween decorations draped with lights work well inside a trunk. To complete the scene, involve the whole family and hand out candy while dressed in coordinating Halloween costumes.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with severe thunderstorms, blizzards hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements knock it out. When exploring different generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Ready your home for cold weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be headed for trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, change chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're in poor condition.
Are garage cabinets or sheds better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Shoe storage and other storage bins remove summer belongings from the equation. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent choice for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Troy Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to shop online with no additional fees.
