Disappointing Quality
I bought this for one job when I left my surveying tape behind. The attachment on the handle for the hook end broke the first day. The tape hook end was already badly stretched and kinked by the end of that day. The tape broke there yesterday after very little use. I mistakenly bought for the brand name. But it's cheap for a reason. A few dollars more buys a Keson or Lufkin that is far stronger with refills available.

Failed on first use
I guess that I should have read the reviews before I bought the 300 ft measuring tape. With the Dewalt name, and a 4.3 out of 5 rating I thought that it would be a good unit. If I had read the reviews I would have seen that too many reviews say that it failed to reel in after very few uses. On its first use I was measuring a 554' property line. While trying to reel it in from the 300' the reeling mechanism failed. I am far from happy.

Handle stripped the first time I used it
Terrible quality. Bought two and they BOTH broke the first time we used them. Pulled them out about 50' and when trying to roll up, the gears in the handles stripped and started free spinning.

Almosted lasted a whole job. Poor quality, if you acidently spin the wheel backwards your in for a mess.

This is a great measuring tape. As advertised, it reels back in very quickly. One improvement would be in how the end of the tape is captured. the very small pin in the case only holds the tape end if it is not bumped.
