Lack of training almost cost me $500
Interesting that I get to share the experience I most recently had with the customer service at this store. Long story short: sequence matters! The basics of cashiering requires that the employee understands how to perform a “split payment” transaction. When using the in store credit card the individual decides how much to apply the payoff amount to make the purchase. Employees need to be made aware that when doing so it is critical to not apply the entire balance first, but rather as the last payment of the split sequence. Thankfully I have had Point Of Sale experience to explain this; however the entire process took nearly two hours.

    Great job Home Depot!
    Home Depot goes farther for me! If them know that I am in search for a product, them will help with ads, notifications, or emails! Making my search some more easier! I was looking for tiles, and Home Depot sent me one email that match perfectly to my taste, and for a very affordable price! I cannot asked for more!

      A Great Store for Home Improvement Projects near Damascus, MD
      We have been doing our basement renovation project since summer 2022. Now it is 95% completion. I had returned a few items to the store with ease. The cashier staff and other associates helped me with great customer skills and very knowledgeable and very professional. I loved to be here! Thank you.

        Hit or Miss!
        This location is typically well-stocked with everything you need, is easy to navigate around, and is usually easy to be in and out if you are keen on making it a short trip. With that said, this location is home to quite honestly some of the least friendly, least helpful, and detached workers I have ever seen at a Home Depot. While I have received top-notch service by some, most of their employees cannot be bothered by assisting you. It seems to be an informal, unprofessional, and downright offensive social hour for most of their employees right around the key station; from loud music playing through their phones, to inappropriate discussions about the prior night’s endeavors. I will no longer bring my child with me here while she is too young to know what is and isn’t acceptable topics of conversation in public. Lot attendants will not leave the sidewalk in front of the lumber exit to assist if their phone is charged, so have your vehicle ready or a friend to help you load your items. In-store associates will avoid you like the plague, have minimal (if any) knowledge on the products if you do manage to catch one to pass a quick question in their direction, and they certainly take their time to assist when requested to unlock items from behind a locked fixture. At first, I assumed they were busy, but then I realized the guy 20 feet away in the middle of a conversation with another associate was the one assigned to that department. Again, this is not all employees as some are fantastic people, but certainly the majority of them that were working while I was there multiple times in this past week. I would not recommend this location, but I also wouldn’t say it’s so bad that making a significant impact to your travel distance to go elsewhere is worthwhile unless you actually need assistance. You can still get what you need here.

          The employees try their level best to avoid a customer
          As you are going around the aisles looking for stuff that you want, if you have a question, either there is no one, or even if they are there, they pretend to not hear you. If they are walking toward you, the moment they see that there is a customer, they change their path. They try their level best to avoid an interaction with a customer. This is specifically in the Germantown location. The one in Urbana is not like that. It is quite the opposite. The employees will spend as much time as you need until you are happy and say, Bye, thank you.

              Great Customer Service Still Lives!
              Every employee I walked past greeted me and asked if I needed help. I did need help locating items, comparing products and using my card at checkout. I felt like a VIP because of the amazing customer service at the Germantown Home Depot. The aisles were marked clearly and the IPhone app was useful for navigating as well. I would definitely recommend this location for beginners who need help with home care or choosing arts and crafts materials.

                    Washer and Dryer Day
                    I was not looking forward to looking at new washers/dryers but as we all know sooner or later that day comes..I decided to give my local Home Depot the opportunity to help me and to my surprise not only did the sales associate a new person (woman) actually cared about my issues and wanting to get the most for my money. She was extraordinary in that she not only took time to help me with several machine models but she helped with every aspect of the deal, so I could return Monday to order the machine, I decided upon purchasing. She documented every detail and presented me with a quote from which her colleagues could enter the order as she wouldn't be working the time, I came to order.. I wish more stores had customer brand ambassadors who well represented their companies Great experience and I'll be back in the future!

                            I shop there because of great location near my house. But I found help is hard to find in the store while many employees would stand around and talk among themselves.

                              Can never get to aisles as soon as many are closed off
                              Shopping any retail is terrible these days as most store no ignore the in store experience and cater to online. Home Depot is the worst of them. Every time I go there to shop so many aisles are closed as they are picking other orders or for some reason won’t allow instore shoppers to actually shop

                                Placed order online, on 11/15/24 said would be shipped for 11/21/24 arrival. Two hours later changed my mind about item and went to site and cancelled. They said no can do we shipped it already. Right... shipped out in less than two hours to arrive in seven days. China makes every thing I guess!

                                  Great Service! Leonidas was fantastic!
                                  We purchased a new refrigerator. We also requested for our current fridge to be moved to our basement which required going out of the front door, around the house and into the basement door. 2 gentleman showed up who were knowledgeable, friendly, and got right to work. The leader of the delivery his name was Leonidas. He was kind, worked quick and was very professional.

We had questions and needed help with several products but couldn't find one sales person to help. The one we found I guess was getting off and basically couldn't be bothered.                                               I really mis my local mom & pop hardware store; namely E.S. Hubbard in Cambridge Md. There for well! over a half century you can walk in be greeted and tell the employee what you need; & they will take you right to it & completely help you. NOT at Home depot ... I ask to speak to the General Manager & it took 20 minutes? Finally when I got him I asked to buy the floor model grill that was missing parts etc & he said just 10% off which was helpful; it still didn't match the price of their competitors. So I left; a month + later & Christmas items are in the store now & still no great price on the summer stock of grills; I guess H.D. doesn't care about paying an inventory tax? Anyway, they mostly have you ring yourself out & then have the audacity to charge a nickel for a plastic bag? How much did I save you ringing it up myself? Surely a free 5 cent bags worth! PS please stop moving inventory & for Pete's sake have a price on everything! so no one has to try & find an associate to ask...

                                                  Nohome, give this man a raise!
                                                  Nohome. Young gentleman helped me with 1 item I needed. It was only 1 item, a garden hose, and it was on the top shelf in aisle 1. Needed a palate lift to bring down “32 times available” from top the shelf because the items were not on the shelf in the garden hose area, aisle 59. Nohome managed to coordinate all HD team members that needed to bring down the item. They closed off all aisle ways and the area of the shelf. . Nohome and the other team member watched the aisles and coordinated all guest movements. Even though they were short of employees, they managed to satisfy a customer and felt special. Thank you so much Nohome!
