A: The Weber Grill is American made in Vermont and Illinois.
A: Hello! Weber grills are designed and engineered in the USA, incorporating globally sourced parts. All charcoal series models are made in Illinois, incorporating globally sourced components. Thanks!
A: Pretty sure the Weber grill is manufactured in the US since 1952. Your welcome
A: United States

A: Yes
A: Not hinged, no. It rests on supporting lips, so it's really safest to adjust the grate with two hands. Not incredibly easy when the grill is hot, unfortunately.
A: Hello! Yes, the cooking grates is hinged. Thanks!
A: Yes
A: No, but you can buy one that is. The hinged grate also has the center that comes out.
A: Hello, we do not advise cooking with straight wood. Doing so will result in the foot taking on a bitter taste, the grill could burn dangerously hot, causing damage to the unit and may present a potential safety issue. We've only designed the unit for use with charcoal (briquettes or lump), but you can add small pieces of wood if you are trying to smoke. Thanks!
A: Generally, I use wood chunks to enhance the flavor of food that I'm either grilling or smoking. I've never used just wood alone. I always use a good grade of charcoal, and when hot and ashed over I add a couple of wood chunks or chips like Hickory, Apple, Pecan, Cherry etc... There are many You Tube channels that go into great detail on how to grill and smoke on your Weber Kettle. I would recommend checking them out.
A: Well, cooking over wood, raw wood, is more smoking than grilling. I would suggest using hardwood lump charcoal for grilling and just add wood chunks if you want to smoke something. Hardwood lump charcoal burns hotter and much longer than regular briquettes. It also has a more "woodsy" taste in the final product. Use a chimney starter to light the lump, or starter aids. Don't use lighter fluid. Good thing about using lump charcoal, you can use it multiple times before it burns up.. Good lump produces very little ash. If you just want to use wood, use a hard wood of your choice.. Lay a small bed of charcoal and light it. Once burning good, lay your wood on it. Now, it will get very hot once the wood lights and you will have to control air flow to get it to flame out and smolder.. Again, this will be more smoking than grilling. It would be better to use the offset method if doing this.
A: Adding wood chips as long as you don’t soak them put them in dry it’s just a matter of flavor but Hickory seems to work the best with most foods
A: Still love the Kingsford charcoal indirect cooking with additions of apple wood for flavor.
A: I can only answer from my experience and my copper colored grill looks as good as it did when I purchased it (2) years ago. I use it for smoking and when I BBQ. However, I do keep mine covered and in the garage.
A: Thank you, I will make the purchase this weekend.
A: After a year of use and being in a sheltered Florida out-door location, my copper-colored Webber looks as good as when I first brought it home.
A: So far, after almost a month of grilling with the top on at least half the time, it is holding up well. No signs of deterioration.
A: of course it will get smokey if you cook on it. After all, it's a grill. I've used mine for about 3 years and just run a degreaser and washcloth around the edges of the top. cleans up like new
A: Hello! Yes, the porcelain enameled copper on this model should hold up for many decades. You will need to periodically clean the unit to maintain it's appearance. Thanks!
A: It remains copper, I’ve had mine for a few years and it still looks the same
A: It remains! I'm on like my third season with mine. A few times per season, I turn it over and use my power washer on it. Then any household spray cleaner and a sponge, and it looks as golden copper as the day I got it! You'll be happy with it i'm sure!
A: I purchased the Premium Copper Kettle Grill with built in Thermometer about 2 years ago. The copper color has remained the same as when purchased new. Love the grill.
A: Yes, I always use soaked wood chips in a foil packet folded tight with slits cut in the top on top of the coals for indirect cooking.
A: Yes you can use wood chips when grilling. Be sure to soak the wood chips to keep them from flaming. Try different types of wood chips.
A: Yes you can use wood chips, I much prefer charcoal briquettes with a few branches of mesquite.
A: Hello! Yes, you can use wood chips with this model grill. You can either add the chips directly to the charcoal, or you can put them in an aluminum foil packet with small holes in it, and place the packet on the cooking grate. Thanks!
A: Yes! Simply make a smoke bomb. Put some wood chips on a piece of aluminum foil, fold tightly on all sides. Poke very small hole(I mean small) place on direct heat about 15 min it will start to smoke. Meats come out great with a smoke bomb!! You can also look online for “how to make a smoke bomb” if my directions are confusing.
A: For assembly, you will need an open-end wrench, a screwdriver, and a hammer (to knock the crap out of it when the parts don't line up, Just kidding :-), you use the hammer to tap the little caps on the end of the axle to keep the wheels on. BTW, see the User's Manual for the list of required tools. You can download the manual from Weber.com and checkout all the assembly steps before purchasing. I have had mine for over a year and Weber makes great grills. Good Luck!
A: I believe if I remember correctly, a Phillips screwdriver.
A: none
A: Hello! You'll need a small socket tool (included with the grill), a hammer, and a Philips screwdriver to assemble this model. You can find the assembly guide at the link below. Thanks! https://875726a9e7c5ae455218-c9ea439bc3c8107a715695dc84896d67.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/54968.pdf
A: screwdriver
A: Hi there. I'm old school, so I start the charcoal the old-fashioned way! Kinda the reason I got the kettle grill. Takes me back to the good ol' days and memories when times were cherished just being patient and not instant everything! Best wishes on recommendations.
A: I would recommend on getting a charcoal chimney and some starter cubes.
A: No. Latest charcoal briquets on the market will light with a single match. When you shape a low pyramid, just have to wait for the ash to cover all the charcoal you placed before using it.
A: Hello Jan! We don't have any info on 3rd party electric starters, but we do recommend out chimney starter (non-electric), part # 7416, and you can find it at the link below. Thanks! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Weber-Rapidfire-Chimney-Charcoal-Starter-7416/100657893
A: No. I use a charcoal chimney.
A: It appears as if the grill itself is manufactured in Illinois, though some parts are internationally sourced.
A: Weber Grills are made in Illinois!
A: Yes, this model is made in the USA.
A: Yes. You can read the story of the kettle grill and watch a video on how it is made on their web site.
A: Hello mfern! This model is assembled in Illinois. Thanks!
A: Yes. Home Depot will assemble your grill that was purchased from their store at no charge.
A: You would have to call the store your picking it up from. If you are having it delivered i dont think they assemble. Mine was very easy to put together maybe 15 minutes.
A: I built it myself under an hour. Quite straight forward! If you follow the instructions, you don't need to pay for assembly on delivery. Home Depot however assembles it for free if you buy it from the store.
A: Hello Chuckles! Please reach out to your local Home Depot store for information pertaining to assembly options. Thanks!
A: I don't work for Home Depot but I do know that the answer is "Yes, Home Depot will assemble your grill (purchased from them) for free.
A: It's about 9 inches
A: Hi! The lid clearance on our 22" Original Kettle Premium is 7.5". Thanks!
A: Don’t know the measurements but there’s enough room to do two pork butts
A: I haven’t never measured it but just guessing I would say around 12-14 inches.
A: There is enough room to fit a medium sized chicken standing upright, or a Turkey laying down.
