      Awesome customer service
      Went in the store today for a specific item that showed stock online. Got there and couldn’t find item. Multiple employees asked if they could help in which Richard from hardware wasn’t taking no for an answer. He went above and beyond to locate item, retrieve, up box and walk us to the register ! Thank you Richard ! You made my husbands birthday better by finding the item !!

          Unacceptable employee comment
          I used the self-checkout and required assistance from an employee to key in my lumber dimension. While assisting me she noticed the touch screen was dirty. She grabbed some cleaner and began wiping down the touchscreen as I was using it. I thought that was quite unusual behavior. I continued to check-out and noticed the language had changed to Spanish. I mentioned it to the employee, and she switched it back to English. As I was leaving, she made this comment to me "Since we had to let them all in, I guess we need to learn their language". This is 100% unacceptable.

            Excellent Experience in the Paint Department!
            Alex and Tee provided my 5-star service! I had been to 2 other paint stores trying to get help matching a deck stain that would work on my replacement boards and original boards. The other 2 stores would not take the time to even make an attempt at finding a color. Alex and Dee were very willing to take the extra time to find the correct color.

                This is a great store
                I've been shopping at this location since 2010 and have always found what i needed there. The times i had trouble finding something a friendly staff member was always there to help.

                    Planning to build or extend your deck? Talk with Janet at the pro desk. She'll set you right up! Every associate greeted me throughout the store as I was "just looking" or asked if they could help me find something even if it wasn't in their department.

                          The one thing wrong with Home Depot
                          The credit card holding the Home Depot name is a terrible company. It is CITI BANK. When customer service is needed to address an issue with ANYTHING there are NO PEOPLE to talk to to address an issue. This is why I closed my credit card with HD.

                              needed a tool box and the store. they did not have it but the employee told me to come back the next day because they had a truck coming in. the next day i was at the store and saw it come off the truck. i was very happy knowing that the people are very knowledgeable.

                                    The HD store I visited is in York County. I live in Williamsburg where we do not have a Home Depot. Your statement about the location of the store I visited read "our Williamsburg Store" but it is in York County.

                                              Such a friendly team!
                                              We live in Surry, so a "quick" trip to anywhere is non existent! But for some reason we thought we'd be able to jump on yhe ferry and make it to HD in about 45 minutes (which is average under normal circumstances), but for some reason they were down to 1 ferry.... AND at the end of the harvest festival!!! So, needless to say a 45 minute trip to the store took 1.5 hours... causing us to arrive at 7:50 pm (they close at 8 pm).... I was braved for attitudes and begging/pleading to let me check out my 5 items so I wouldn't have to make the trip again the next day... to avoid additional time/delays at the store, I ran up to the customer service area and apologetically asked for the location of clear plastic rolls (prepping our garden for winter), and the lady behind the counter smiled at me, thought for a second and pointed me in the right direction. I passed a couple of other associates heading out (I presume, based on the time)and they all smiled and greeted me. I rushed over to paint section (right where she said it would be), grabbed it (along with a few other things I saw that I really DIDNT NEED, but are going to helpful) , rushed back to self checkout, where I needed the associates help (I struggle when I'm panicked about causing others delays), and she was very friendly and patient. She clicked on the screen, did her overrun magic, scanned all my items for me, helped me check out, all whole smiling and chatting like I wasn't keeping her there any longer than she would be (there was nobody else around, so I was her only hold up). It's so rare to have that kind of interaction at any store during normal operating hours/mid-day, but right before you close? AND in a Saturday? This will be my only DIY store from now on!

                                                Clogged aisle
                                                Clear the aisle of Merchandise and ladders so we can get carts through, and when a cashier needs help…for the love of all things decent…help them. Time is money and frankly today this store failed to help

                                                  I had an account issue that was really strange! I have been going to the Williamsburg Home Depot store since Dec 2021 and always used my phone number to find my account, both as a military and pro member, but several weeks ago, I used my phone number and the system could not find my account. Employees tried to help but then suggested I call the Home Depot 1-800 number to resolve the issue. Those folks tried and finally came to the realization that my account was wiped out! They promised to restore my perks ($75) but of course they had no proof of my spending history so I can only guess they never went through with it bec all I got from them was a coupon for 10% off which is what I get with my military discount. I was so sad about losing my spending history and thought no one was going to believe me but on 29 September 2023, Shirley, an associate at the Williamsburg Pro Desk, did believe me and called the Home Depot 1-800 line to work with another associate, Jordan, to resolve the issue. It turns out, my account wasn’t wiped out after all but the strange part is that the phone number was was wrong (2 numbers switched) and there were 2 letters missing from my email address! How could this have happened, after I used both pieces of info to get military discounts and pro points many, many times? The best part of this story are the 2 people who were kind, patient and caring enough to spend 90 minutes (husband reminded me!) of their time to help me resolve this issue. I cried happy tears for this show of human grace and caring. Home Depot at Williamsburg was and will continue to be my home away from home and part of my extended family.

                                                    Decking Repair ideas & support
                                                    We recently removed an old hot tub from our aging deck which left a 6x6 hole in our deck that need attention…safety first y’all! (For context - we are currently attempting to extend the life of the deck for a little longer before we replace the whole deck) We came into the store with what we thought was a good bridge the gap repair plan…. After some marital bickering in the lumber isle on how to tackle this project. We asked Ted to weigh in… after the discussion with Ted we realized we would have started down a path of MANY headaches and lots of waste… time, money & materials…. We are so happy we took the time to ask for help! Ted had so many great ideas & suggestions! We can confidently say Ted is an awesome problem solver and no doubt it was a blessing we ran into him!

                                                      Kevin and Tammy were beyond helpful! They went above and beyond helping my daughter and I purchase a Halloween display. Even with the rush of a holiday weekend, they took the time. There was another gentleman helping with the display too, but I didn’t catch his name. The customer service at this store is amazing!
